Robert Turgeon is a 60 year old Native American Flutist. He is a Metis'', having French and Indian from his Father and Irish from his Mother. He has been a musician since age 10 when he started playing the trumpet.
Robert has played many different instruments through out the years - finally focusing on the Native American Flute.
Robert has lived on and off various Indian Reservations for almost half of his life. He has participated in many sacred cerimonies, including the Sundance, Naming Ceremony, Pow Wow, Coming Home Ceremony, Warriors Ceremony, Pipe Ceremony, Ghost Dance, and many more.
His music is sold and played world-wide - From Russia to the Isle of Man. He has performed in numerious locations throughout the United https://www.tradebit.com last being The North West Folk Fest in Seattle, Washington. He currently chooses not to perform in person because of health reasons.
His music has been used in several films, including: Arrowhead Pictures, "Secrets of a Sleeping Giant" which was nominated for a "Tele Award". He has also been featured in other award winning films.
Dr. Titus Levi, of Keyboard Magazine has noted that "Robert''s music is grounded and ethereal. It is a music through the spiritual, drawing from voices that call from beyond."
For the several years Robert donated all sales to the Seven Fires Project which assists children, and schools in South Dakota with supplies, etc.
He has "Prayed" his flutes at World Peace and Prayer Day" at the Myrna Loy Center for The Performing Arts. He has also performed at the State Capital for the Governor and other dignitaries.
Robert is currently working on his fourth CD which will hopefully be finished sometime this year.
He lives in the Elk Horn Mountains outside of Helena, Montana with his wife, malamute, and three cats. His log home is in a remote and secluded twenty acres where he connects with nature and generates ideas for his music.
