"Let''s Ride"

The Road Rebels
(Mistralwind records)
Cover art showing two clean-cut bikers sitting on cute little pastel bicycles sets the mood for this impressive debut by Jay Soares and Marco Catracchia. The Road Rebels are serious, hard-core rockers, true, but they''ve got a sense of humor. Soares is the lead voice, Catracchia the guitarist. David Kauahikaua (keyboards) and Chris Luke (drums) are their supporting musicians, and the Rebels'' wives, Roslyn Catracchia and Kim Soares, provide backing vocals.

The Rebels'' personality emerges with "Pushin'' 40," which expresses the guys'' awareness of aging with defiant comic panache and hard-driving rock -- every "middle-age adolescent" will relate. "I Ain''t Nobody''s B#@%*!" serves rowdy notice they won''t wear anyone''s logo unless they''re paid to do it.

The Rebels aren''t all hard rock and attitude. "What Did I Say?" ponders the errors that drove a woman away. "Walkin'' Up That Hill" taps into a darker electric blues vein for another tale of failed romance.

There''s nothing Hawaiian here, but these island rebels rock!

CD review of THE ROAD REBELS CD "LET''S RIDE" by https://www.tradebit.com

The Road Rebels - Let''s Ride

Rock, and pretty heavy too, that''s how this collection of bluesrock music starts. "Let''s Ride", titletune and opener of the CD is a great song, including bikesounds and all. "Baby Changed The locks". ".....And I was only 12 hours late....." (to prove that women are the same everywhere) is good fun listening to.

"What did I Say", is a well sung ballad with a nice full sound. "Slice Of Pie" is again more rocklike and straight forward music. More up speed is "Í Ain''t Nobodys Bitch"! Another very nice ballad is "Walkin'' Up That Hill". "Pushin'' 40" is again pure R&R. Not only in the music but also very much in the words. It''s all thruth, I was there, 10 year''s ago, so I know!

This CD is filled with some great music. There''s a lot of good guitarwork to listen to and singer, Jay has a whole lot to tell, the lyrics are often quite long. Further more there''s a well balanced mix of up tempo rock and ballads. 15 songs that show these Rebels know their way around in rocking blues music. The songs are about things that can happen to everybody, more or less in his or her life. It''s fun at times to realize "you are not the only one experiencing this make" when you hear Jay sing what he thinks of it all.

The Road Rebels - Let''s Ride - An hour+ of great music.

For Immediate Release:
Ladies and gentlemen, the long wait is finally over. Just in time to kick off the summer right. A year in the making (mostly because the guitarist gets up at 2 in the afternoon and the lead singer can only record on friday nights). From the band that brought you virtually nothing before: THE ROAD REBELS. With their debut CD "LET''S RIDE." Do you love rockin'' blues music with southern and classic rock influences? Do you find yourself looking at MTV or flipping thru radio stations trying to find good tunes? Do you wake up in a cold sweat wondering what happened to good old rock and roll? Well fret not boys and girls the ROAD REBELS have got you covered. 15, yes I said 15 original ground shakin'' tunes to get your toes a tappin''.

The Road Rebels are the exception to the rule "Old School Rock." They bring new life to rock and blues music that has passion and balls!

The music is a resurgence of straight forward rock, with creative melodic guitar riffs and sometimes humorous lyrics that can bring the listener into the Rebels own Friday night rock romp.

With the entire Road Rebels recording of 15 songs set in perfect order it will take the listener on a ride with a stop every now and then to kick back and listen, or stand up and stomp.

The core of the band-Marco Catracchia, all guitars and vocals, Jay Soares, lead vocals-went into the studio with a select group of musicians. David Kauahikaua keyboards, mixing and master creator of sounds. Chris Luke''s wicked drum licks. Greg Kuwaye bass on Not Like Before. Roslyn Catracchia and Kim Soares back up vocals, co-lyric writing and inspiration.

You never know what life will throw at you. Through a chance meeting of old friends, Marco and Jay hooked up and started writing songs. It all clicked and what you hear is what you get!

Jay Soares was born on September 24, 1964 in Seal Beach, California. He moved to Hawaii with his mother and brother when he was 10 and was raised in Honolulu.

Jay enjoyed singing and music growing up and throughout his high school years. He married his high school sweetheart Kim.

They went on a five year adventure to San Antonio, Texas where he worked as a D.J. in a rock club called "Rocky''s." The hours were bad and the pay was sad so he let go of his musical dream and walked on, for a while.

During that time he started a career in construction and soaking in all the different types of music everyone around him was listening to. Throw in a couple of great kids and a lifestyle change was born.

A chance meeting with an old high school friend of Kim''s, Marco convinced him it was time to rock again.

He still hasn''t quit the hammer and nail bit, but you never know what your future has in store for you!

One day on september 27th 1965, Marco''s parents were at the beach digging for clams. They turned over a rock and there was Marco. They took him home and cleaned him up like a shiny new penny. Marco started taking guitar lessons in 1977 including classical. He was in rock bands in intermediate and high school and rock bands here and there after graduation. In 1988 he moved to San Francisco for a decade then moved back to Hawaii. He married his lovely wife Roslyn (also a singer/songwriter/musician). They made a home recording studio and started a record label "MISTRALWIND RECORDS". In 2002-2004 Marco kept asking Jay to sing on a c.d. with him but he didn''t have the time. Then one friday night Marco played him the first song he wrote for a new project he was just starting in his studio and Jay said excitedly " I want in" that song was "Walking Up That Hill." They both began to write feverishly and record and after 18 songs 15 made the c.d. They got a band name and put out the c.d. And that''s what you see before you, THE ROAD REBELS: LET''S RIDE
