Hailing from the Queen City, just north of the Mason-Dixon line, where James Brown and Hank Williams recorded their first big hits, and where Elvis Presley picked-up songs from Cincinnati''s legendary King Records label and recorded them for his Sun debut, comes ELLIOTT RUTHER TRIO. Headlining juke joints and the college circuit, and opening for Violent Femmes and 22-20s (England), ELLIOTT RUTHER TRIO''s punk, blues, country and old school rock and roll jams are winning fans young and noble.

Elliott Ruther, Joel Cotton, and Marvin Hawkins first jammed to salute the legacy of Cincinnati''s King Records and have been brewing their eclectic stylings ever since. On a mission to commune with the pillars of rock and roll, Ruther''s song, "Rock-N-Roll Conceived (in Cincinnati)" was featured in a MidPoint Music Festival national campaign to reclaim Cincinnati''s rock and roll birthrights.

Elliott Ruther''s debut album, ROCK-N-ROLL CONCEIVED (2005 on Brown Room Records), features triomates Marvin Hawkins (Marvin & The Experience) and Joel Cotton (Uplift I), as well as producer Bob Gayol (The Virgins, formerly MOTH), Dan Allaire (touring with Brian Jonestown Massacre), Susie Pepper, & Thom Schaffner (St. Louis).
