Details:
I am Sarah Elizabeth Holder born in a very small town called Benson, North Carolina. I grew up on a farm and was working in the fields by the time I turned 8 years old. I worked long hot days in yams, tobacco, bell peppers, cucumbers, and a lot more. I grew up in a four room house, (not a four bed room house). I had no inside bathroom. When our family finally got an inside bathroom, I just knew that Heaven had opened its windows and poured down a blessing. Now I know that was what it was. I also had to encounter the first desegregation of schools in my area and had to be bussed many miles because the segregated Black schools were closed. Through these rough times, my grandmother always prayed for our protection because we would have threats from certain whites in the local area where we lived. We were annoited and sent to school with the belief that our angels had the job of taking care of us. I believed that. I accepted the Lord Jesus as my savior when I was 7 years old and was baptized in a muddy pond called Parkers Pond. Ahh, God is good.

I give honor to the most high and supreme God. He is truly the head of my life. The experience of recording have been one of which many prayers that has gone up for strength and guidance. It was a lot of hard work. I first got my inspiration from my fore parents. My grandmother, Sarah Melvin, was the one that constantly prayed for me, raised me, and inspired me to sing. I was told that I was the punier one of eight children. I was always the sick child with asthma, eczema, small, short, and scrawny. My grandmother told me my eczema was so bad the doctor said that in order for my skin to be clear without a permanent scar, I would need a skin draft. Oh but the power of Jesus, through praying, fasting, and anointing, my body was healed. I never needed the skin draft and I have beautiful skin. My mother, Doris Campbell and her sister, my aunt Nellie Ward were great inspirations to me and encouraged me to continue working in the church and singing for the Lord. When my grandmother passed, I was fourteen and these two ladies saw that I was taken care of and got what I needed to continue with my walk with Christ. They also played a big role in encouraging me to continue my education in high school and college. They are all gone now, but great memories still live within my heart. I can remember us being in church every Sunday. It was a Penecostal Holiness church where you went in at 9:00 o''clock for Sunday school and did not return home until after 4 in the afternoon. Then sometimes we had to fellowship with other churches or had an evening service so we had to go back to church again. I vowed that when I got grown, I would not go to church anymore unless I wanted to. To my surprise, I am a grown woman with grown children and a grandchild an am still going to church not only on Sundays, but also sometimes during the week and on weekends. Thru all of my trials and tribulations, I''ve learned to trust in Jesus and depend upon His Word. We''ve had some very difficult and hard times and lots of lessons were learned along with a lot more to be learned. In order to succeed, I had to keep my eyes on the prize. The real prize is for someone to want to know more about this Christ that I am singing about and in return decides to give his or her life to Him.

I would like to thank some special people in my life for supporting me. The first is a very good friend who is always there for me, Jesus Christ. Next, my wonderful husband, Ronald is a great supporter. Even though he has encountered many headaches, he has endured and stuck by me. It''s the little things he does like making sure I am adequately wrapped after singing, making sure I am well rested, and being there to talk to when needed. He always supports projects that he feels will endow as well as enhance my growth in the Lord. I also want to thank my brother, Charles Sellers, for the great support he gave and the understanding as to why I wanted to include him on this CD. He is a very gentle person with small words, but he also has a wonderful melodious voice and a great sense of humor. He came to rehearsals and recordings even though he would be tired from long hours of work. Thanks again Charles for everything. My daughter, Seronda Ronee Holder and my goddaughter, Felicia Renee McAllister, have been there for me and followed me when I had projects to do. I continue to instill in them the real purpose for believing in Christ. God bless you Darrell Ray Collins for being an inspiring spiritual person who has a lot of patience. He is also a multi task person. He took the time to write the words and music to the songs as well as ministering music in the local churches. He still had time for rehearsals, praying, singing, eating, and fun. Stu, you are wonderful. Your kind heart says it all. You are just a wonderful human being. May God ever bless and be with all of you forever.
