Details:
What''s up? Thanks for checking out my first ever released album, "Bad DNA". It''s been out for over a year and a half now. Over the coarse of this time, I have constantly attempted to describe its style. The truth is, it shares a few different styles. In fact, each song is a little different from the last. I suppose they all share a couple things in common though- down tempo, relaxed, ambient vocals, and odd electronic sounds and samples. Definitely an album you could smoke to, if you know what I mean.

I start the album off with an acoustic lullaby, "Say Goodbye", about losing a loved one. This by far has been the most popular song on the album. An anti-suicide commercial and missing children''s flyer inspired it. I used to perform it a lot in the Yahoo "open mic" chat rooms until the voice chat option was dropped. This song even received some radio play at a local College station.

The second song, "Macaroni and Cheese", is a simple acoustic blues tune dedicated to my favorite food. This one I wrote around midnight one very cold school night in the student union of the university I used to attend. There were two girls on back up vocals that night, but I could never convince them to record with me. Some lines of the song were written with the help of my best friend''s girlfriend. This is probably the most humorous song on the album.

"Silence" was more of a dream to me than an actual experience. The lyrics are pretty surreal. The music itself is droning and unemotional to convey a lazy sleep like state. I''m not even quite sure what that song is about, but I like it none the less.

Since my teen years, I have dealt with manic depression. Prior to writing, "Wait", I had tried killing myself quite a few times. One time even landed me in a mental institute. One day I finally realized that my depression really came from nowhere, or rather, I had no real reason to be depressed. So I had to convince myself of that. This track is a dream like rock song about confronting the strong desires to commit suicide and living on.

"Inside Out" is closely related to "Wait" in meaning. It''s more about the madness that comes along with being a manic-depressive. Specifically, talking to one''s self as two personalities of the same person. It''s the only song on the album in 3/4 time, which gives it this creepy train feeling. The song leaves us in a little melody played on a friend''s toy piano I sampled.

Next stop- space. One of my friends, the same who let me sample his toy piano, said "Drive Thru" was an 80''s Euro dance track from the future. A lot of people have also said I sound like Jim Morrison in this song. It''s a simple little dance song about getting ready to take a trip to the moon. I kind of imagined it, as being one of those poppy songs the GAP would use in a commercial... in a bizarre world of course.

"Disposable Space Cadet" is one of my favorite songs on the album. It was a random inspiration that came to me while inhaling the smoke under the stars. The first part that materialized was the awkward drumbeat. Then, the lyrics kind of immediately spewed onto the table. "Take me to your leader, I dare you..." My impression is that this song is about a foreign space traveler who was sent from his planet to ours. His mission- to assassinate our world leader for threatening his home world. In doing so, he is trying to explain to our world leader that he is not so much different than we are, despite our superficial beliefs.

The last, and my personal favorite, song on the album is "Ripple in Time". This is an epic track detailing a visit from aliens during my sleep. They communicate telepathically and tell me I am the only one who can save humanity. How do I do it? With a large death dealing mechanized robot of course. Not all the details are explained in the lyrics, but that''s what''s going on.

As a whole, the album is pretty laid back. It won''t make you punch walls or anything. A great side kick to a smoke out. I recorded the album in my bedroom studio. All parts were played or sequenced by myself.
