Scott McCurry started playing guitar and writing music in Dallas with his first band the "koozies". Their first CD, "seeing through bleu ink" was a hit selling several thousand copies. At live venues, fans often request tracks from the record like "Tahiti", "Run 78" and "Jamnations". He has recently completed the recording of his 1st solo project - "like the sun". Scott has played dozens of venues including Six Flags over Texas, Trees, Poor David''s and private events for fundraisers, Universities and parties. He will be playing several clubs in the Dallas, Austin, Houston and west Texas areas this fall.

About Scott McCurry
Scott was born in Houston, Texas, December 27, 1983. He later moved to his current home - Dallas where he began listening to The Beatles and other 1960''s rock icons. That music soon became a passion for Scott and he bought his first guitar at the age of 13. Self-taught on the guitar and keyboard, Scott has been in several bands and seriously writing music for the last three years. His previous band, The Koozies, released their first CD, "Seeing through bleu ink" in 2002. That unsigned album sold over 3,000 copies. Scott has written over 50 original songs including 12 compelling tunes on his new solo project, "like the sun". His musical influences include such artist as the Stones, Lennon, Syde Barret, and Neil Young and more recent artists like Elliott Smith, and Grandaddy. Scott currently plays lead guitar, harmonica, and performs all vocals for his new album.

The all-original tunes from the "like the sun" CD are reminiscent of music from the 60''s infused with a fresh and modern American style. Songs like "Oh no" with the addicting guitar and harmonica melody echo sounds of Bob Dylan while other tracks like "One Good, Three Bad" pump out a fusion of method from the Beatles and Coldplay.
