Details:
Seed is a modern rock band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The band has been busy since 2001 playing a variety of venues including concert halls, coffee houses, church services, military bases, stadiums and youth outreach events. Seed released their first, independently produced CD, "The Seeing Kind" in July 2002 and has opened for National and International artists such as Circadian Rhythm, T-Bone, Noel Richards and Justin McRoberts. Their songs have received airplay on KSFM, 100.7 FM, The Bridge in the San Francisco Bay Area and the band has appeared live on the radio numerous times.

"The Veil" is Seed''s latest CD. This sophomore project represents a turn towards a heavier, groovier sound than Seed''s first CD. Weaving catchy, melodic hooks around layers of percussion, bass, guitars and passionate vocals, the project is a musical catharsis for post modern angst. "This record is about seeking truth." says Seed vocalist, Chris McCooey. "The veil is really a picture of the things we allow into our reality that separate us from truth. Popular culture, politics, cares of the world, cultural tradition and religion are all things that ultimately separate us from truth. Our belief as a band is that truth is revealed in the person Jesus Christ, God incarnate. We don''t believe this because of religion or culture but, really, in spite of religion and culture. The veil represents all of our excuses to not find out for ourselves who Jesus Christ is and whether or not He is truth."

Hearing McCooey''s previous commentary one might presume the project to be filled with social commentary and pictures of cultural angst. However, the songs on "The Veil" are all essentially songs of worship. What ties them together are themes of surrender and sacrifice that express a passion and desire to no longer settle for the things that separate us from God. The title track sums it up in this lyric:

And now this world no longer holds me in it''s grasp.
I want Your peace, I want Your truth,
I want a life that will not pass.

As the band members would say, "Look up, live loud!" Seed invites you to pass through the Veil.
