Details:
Born Shane Michael Simon and steeped in the tradition of Cleveland rock, this 26-year-old has been at the game for well over 19 years. Singing before he was walking, Shane has run the gamut in both vocal and instrumental performance. From touring bands (former frontman for Tin Pan Alley and The Mudflaps) to a solo act, he has always found a soul mate in music.

Being classically trained on the piano, his musical journey began at the young age of seven, receiving lessons from a Cleveland Philharmonic pianist. Continuing with some formal percussion and informal guitar training, he bridged out from the suburban shelter of Beachwood, Ohio, to college at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and then onto Los Angeles. All the while, Simon''s first love is singing, and his influences range from Dave Matthews, Chris Robinson, Lenny Kravitz and Adam Duritz to The Allman Brothers, Phish, Pearl Jam and Incubus. His music represents a smooth blend of rock, funk, blues, pop and folk.

Staking his flag in LA for over three-and-a-half years now, Shane tours the SoCal scene, making sporadic trips to Philadelphia, Boston, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and Tampa to play satellite gigs. But, if you want to see him in person, find your way to Los Angeles'' sunny shores and logon to https://www.tradebit.com for his upcoming dates.

Over the past three years, Shane has authored, recorded and published four independent releases. His first effort was a two-track CD single of As She Sleeps with Drive On as its b-side. The single generated a buzz in 2001 and sparked a second release in 2002 entitled acoustic backstage pass. The five-song album included four original works as well as a cover of Radiohead''s classic Karma Police.

Shane''s third release served as a response to those that desired a slice of his live acoustic solo act. Recorded in December 2002, Shane Simon: Live At The Mint is a soundboard recording of a live performance at The Mint Hollywood, the famous singer/songwriter club that has a distinguished alumni of performers, including BB King, Sheryl Crow, Jack Johnson, The Wallflowers, Taj Mahal, Stevie Wonder, Ben Harper, Tonic, Gavin Degraw and Vanessa Carlton to name a few. Much like Dave Matthews'' 1994 Recently release or Jason Mraz''s 2001 Live CD recording, the music is presented in its most naked and revealing tone ... just a man and his guitar.

His most recent effort entitled 26 years, 53 days, 10 hours and 9 minutes is Shane''s first full-band, professional studio recording. The self-produced album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Jet City Studios in Los Angeles under talented engineer Mark Nathanson''s (credits include sound engineer work for Britney Spears, Sheryl Crow and others) watchful eye. The album was launched to a sold out crowd of more than 250 fans at Santa Monica''s famed Sonny McLean''s in early May 2004.

Shane is currently pushing his new album, playing various cover and original shows in SoCal, planning a brief summer tour along the East Coast and working with several independent producers on other studio projects. With all this and much more, it''s sure to be a busy 2004 for Shane & Company.
