Shen Fine is a celtic-influenced folk ensemble whose home is the beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, U.S.A. Our music combines stirring pub songs that audiences just can''t resist joining into, vocal harmonic arrangements, dance music , traditional jigs and reels, laments and ballads, Celtic and Americana as well as our own songwriters'' wide-ranging musical creations.
We also play contemporary Celtic music such as the Cranberries, Mike Scott (Waterboys) The Pogues, Andy Stewart (Silly Wizard), Dougie MacLean and Tim O''Brien.
Shen Fine musicians are:
CHERYL TOBLER, Flute and whistle, BRENT HOLL, guitar, bass, percussion and vocals, and SHANNON DOVE lead vocals, and guitar.
JESSIE TRAINUM, fiddle, STEVE MORENO, Mandolin, Harmonica and vocals, are former members of the band and still appear with us at gigs as special guests. Both play on several tracks on this CD.
Shen Fine plays at private parties, including weddings, wedding receptions, and rehearsal dinners. We specialize in Celtic weddings with service music including tunes by O''Carolan and traditional wedding tunes and songs.
We perform in pubs and restaurants interested in ballads, pub songs, sea shanty''s, audience participation, and traditional reels and jigs in the Celtic style. Our repertoire also includes original compositions and American folk songs and ballads with a country flavor.
We also play for festivals and special civic and community events.
