Stephen Patrik grew up near the beaches of San Diego, California, before going back east for college. There he formed a band called "The Shores", and played extensively in the five-college area, including U-Mass, Amherst, Smith, Holyoke and Hampshire College. He eventually settled in New York City, primarily to record his new album, Grunion Run. It features some of the city''s best: gold-accredited producer Matthew Chiaravalle (Joe Bonamassa, Michael Tolcher), drummer Ron Thaler (Sarah McLachlan, Dweezil Zappa) and bassist/engineer Ezra Matychak (Dave Matthews Band, Switchfoot).
He has since been gigging regularly in New York, including such venues as Arlene''s Grocery, CBGB 313 Gallery, The Knitting Factory, and The Bitter End. He has also showcased at several conferences and festivals, including the Durango Songwriter''s Festival, as well as the Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA. His song "The Science of Her Nature" has been featured as the pop/rock track of the week on https://www.tradebit.com, and the Rock track of the day as well. Both "Love Season" and "Purple and Red" are in the process of being considered Fox''s "The OC".
Steve will be switching his home base from New York back to San Diego in the coming months, where he will be filming a video with Director Agnes Chu for "The Science of Her Nature" and continue writing, performing, and publishing his music.
