Details:
The main question is what, why, and where the heck is New York native Shuttlecock (Joe DeVita) coming from? Some say Shuttlecock travels around the streets of New York with a converted Radio Flyer wagon and a Casio keyboard, walking down dark alleys, chain smoking Marlboroughs, and drinking a pile of Lipton Iced-Tea, but what ever the case this man or thing is a great talent to be reckoned with. Oh this particular album we find Shuttlecock playing all of the instruments through a loaned Casio Keyboard, originally it was intended to have other musicians like Jaribu Shaheed (who''s performance and recording credits include Sun Ra, David Murray, James Carter, Art Ensemble of Chicago, etc.) on it but the music created by Shuttlecock and Jaribu will be released at a later date. Shuttlecock''s abilities stretch far and wide across the musical spectrum but some how another Shuttlecock has come to his own as an Electronic musician on the fringe of the "Avante Garde". With influences aplenty Shuttlecock manages to pay homage to some of his musical hero''s such as Sun Ra and Miles Davis yet he maintains a very personal voice of his own. Enough talk though lets give him a good listen shall we?
