Born October 12, 1953 in Long Beach California… grew up in So Cal sunshine and beaches. In 1970 became a huge Jethro Tull Fan and decided to get a beginner flute and a book and spent hours in the park learning the fingering and blowing and blowing till I could make sounds. Then started playing along with albums and learning to play by hearing the music and then after couple years... family and kids came along. After raising kids, again picked up the flute and started playing with a Praise Team at a small Christian Church in downtown Olympia. Then started going to local Jam nights... the longest running (7 years) BLUES JAM in Olympia WA is at Charlie’s Bar and Grill. I played with a number of local musicians at various clubs and venues in Western Washington and felt a growing number of original music filling my senses. Around Christmas 2007 I had decided to start composing my own music and so in early 2008, I started playing with different sounds and instruments the next thing I knew I was making some really pretty, melodic and relaxing music. Then I recalled a conversation I had about a year ago with Jerry Bentley of Blues Attitude and his wife Lauren Elle who is a massage therapist. Lauren wanted some new music for her massage therapy practice and she explained how difficult it was to find new music for her business. So, “A Sense of Dreaming” was born out of Lauren’s ideas of making calming, relaxing and peaceful music for her to use in her massage therapy practice. The first song I ever did was Floating Free... as the music evolved and the inspiration kept coming through it became clear that this was to be a really nice work of Chill music perfect for massage therapy or meditation. Somehow the experience of this work for me personally has been that the music created here was already there... somewhere floating out there and as I began to put it together, I was just the medium by which the music came to be...... truly a unique experience. Finally... the CD A Sense of Dreaming was born out of JB and Lauren''s idea''s of peaceful and Melodic music that is pleasant, peaceful, relaxing and calming.. music that is happy.
