Smokeville, Carolina -Feb. 28, 2005 7:16pm EST

Just when we thought all the categories of Hip-Hop/Rap had been covered, this North-South Kakalac duo managed to present us with yet another turn. "Countri Muzik" is the category; ''Smokeville'' is the name. The style is different-the sound is amazing. With tracks produced by Smokeville Sound/Big Syxx and mastering by the legendary Rodney Mills who has earned over 37 gold and platinum records for engineering, producing, and mastering for artists like Lil Jon & the East Side Boys and David Banner to name a few. Lyrically the album is a Carolinas''classic. Sound-wise these guys are close to being the next Neptunes out of VA. When you combine two sides of production and two eclectic flows you end up with a 4 mic album, according to sources. ''Blaize-1, the South Kakalac half of Smokeville contributes the slick-tongue slum flow that rides the fine line between Outkast-Skinny Deville (Nappy Roots) and macule touch of Young Buck (G-Unit) to top it off. Born in the run down ''West Greenville'' area of South Carolina and loosing both parents at the age of 3, explains why he connected with "Black Mafia" in 1995 recording out of MCR in Atlanta, Georgia. The young ''Blakedogg, would make a local high school name for himself... (Blaize). After the group failed to sign to a major, Blaize had other ambitions and headed to VA. ''Smoke Durty, the North Kakalac half of Smokeville boasts a more country-Midwest style that he acquired while running the streets of Toledo, Ohio where he lived on Macomber Block with his mom, before moving back to NC. The North Kakalac native had been on the production side of things until linking up with p-n-c Blaize in 1999. The two where actually working two different projects, until a collaboration song set the blueprint for the "Writaz Block" LP. ''Smoke is credited for producing tracks for underground acts; "Creep-Low & Bank Roll Jones" to name a few. In Virginia Beach an apartment/studio set as the laboratory for the Smokeville chemistry to begin. "Freeway," the first hit single off the "Writaz Block debut LP," set the standards for the Carolina sound. The song has so much diversity, but yet classy. "It feels like Outkast; sounds like Smokeville." The album is very experimental and they are more like scientists than producers. They juggle with stratospheric sounds and heart pounding bass drops most producers surpass. That''s what separates this duo from the rest. "Writaz Block," is what we have been waiting for over a year and it has the potency of any nominated album to date. This predicted underground album of the year available exclusively here!

First of all, we would like to take a moment and reflect on this day. As the promotions manager for this group I would like to say thanks and Smokeville would like to Thank You All for the support of this album in which you all have made it a success. The cd sales, digital downloads, reviews and e-mails are all appreciated! Those of you who continue to ride with Smokeville, good news for you. The video of "On Dat Wood" and "The Mix Tape" is in full rotation which cotains a little sample of what the next album will be like......
