MP3 Jeff Smolizer - See With Your Eyes Closed

Instumental rock fusion in the vein of Joe Satriani

8 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Instrumental Rock, METAL: Progressive Metal

Details:
Jeff Smolizer, the guitar virtuoso responsible for last year''s eclectic album "Two Sides to Every Story" has just released his much-awaited follow-up cd, "See With Your Eyes Closed". With this second solo effort, Jeff expands on his versitility, incorporating additional influences to his already unique style of instrumental guitar rock. After the July, 2004 release of "Two Sides...", Jeff went right to work on a new set of infectious tunes in his home studio in central Pennsylvania. After years of playing up and down the east coast in several different bands, this talented guitarist and writer decided to go solo in order to put all of his time into recording his own compositions for independent release. His debut album is gaining worldwide attention through the internet, being listed as one of the top instrumental albums on mp3tunes, and Jeff has been one of the featured artists on mperia.
The new CD begins with the classical intro to the hard-rocking "Edge of Insanity", and "Looking in your Rear-View Mirror", a fast-paced Satriani-ish track, two songs reminiscent of the first album. It then moves into a Southern rock style with "The Raven''s Flight", a beautiful, soaring track that blends electric with acoustic and was inspired by the struggle of Aron Ralston. "Shredding Metal" is an aptly-titled fast riff song, and "A Little Blue" begins with an incredible two-handed tap solo which leads into a soulful blend of emotion. The album then winds down with the ebow-infused new age-sounding "Holding Back the Tears", which Jeff was inspired to write after the tsunami disaster last year, rises to the mid-tempo melodic "Going to Nowhere", and ends with the mellow, eastern-influenced "Window to the Soul".
This master of the guitar ranks among the best: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, without copying any of their signature styles. His sound continues to be totally unique and his songs unforgettable. Don''t miss out on the ultimate guitar experience!
