Details:
James Carroll is a singer/songwriter/artist who resides in Toronto, Canada. After teaching himself how to play acoustic guitar at the age of seventeen he began playing coffee houses around town and quickly realized he was becoming addicted to this music buzz. He also realized he needed a band! While searching for bass and drums to complete this mission he offered his guitar playing talent to other singer/songwriters. When he finally hooked up with a decent rhythm section the James Carroll Rockin'' Shockin'' Boogie Band took flight and for 12 years played wherever and whenever they could.
The inevitable happened and after the demise of that project James hooked up with Shady Blues and did an all blues gig for another 12 years before finally finding his own musical niche which seems to be a hybrid of country, rock'' n'' roll and some other elusive slant that helps set him apart from other artists.

This album, "Give Me A Woman", is James Carroll''s third recording and it provides more of the same type of rootsy rock'' n'' roll delivered by his two previous releases, Travelvoid and A Big House.
The title track is a haunting scorcher with searing guitar and tortured lyric followed by the more upbeat and fun, She''s Been Gone. Following these two tunes are songs about longing, metaphorical sexual innuendos, depression, social commentary and reflection.
We get back into some good-time music with the rock'' n'' rolling Dave Edmunds inspired True Love, followed by the sensitive moody Neil Young like Little Memories.
Don''t worry about being too mellowed out though because after Little Memories is the old school rocker called Riding the Storm, which sails into James''s guitar laden Stratosphere for an eight minute jam followed by the historic, from the vault gem known as Psycho Medley. Fasten your seatbelts and crank it up for this baby !

This is Mr. Carroll''s third album and number four is eagerly awaiting it''s release and hopefully that will happen very soon. Word is that the next one has some even more amazing guitar instrumentals and well crafted songs so stay tuned...we''ve only just begun !
