Details:
Jeff Janikowski has been writing songs for almost 20 years. Born in Wausau, Wisconsin on Feb. 20th, 1975. Jeff started to play guitar at the age of 13. He started making up his own little compositions early on. Influenced by the likes of The Replacements, Husker Du, Soul Asylum, Dag Nasty and others. Jeff started to write satirical songs about life and stories about his friends and relationships. The first high school band Jeff was in was called "Greed". Jeff just sang in this band and wrote a couple of songs. "Greed" included Andy Lanning(guitar)Josh Gaurke(guitar), and (R.I.P.)Bryan Carruth(Bass). The band played only a couple times. The 1991 Wausau East variety show was the pinnacle of "Greeds" short career. Jeff then started a band called "Delta 9" with Elizabeth Schmidt(bass) and Corey Driftka(drums). The band wrote 15 songs but never played a gig. This band was a punk band that was still learning to write songs. After "Delta 9" broke up he then started playing with his long time friend Andy Lanning again and started The band "Broken spokes". Jeff switched to the bass. They found the drumming services of Casey Wood. Wrote 10 songs with friend Chris Berger singing. Chris left and Jeff took back over the singing duties. Jeff Leopard was born... At some point the Band decided to change it''s name every gig so they played as: Jeff Leopard, Andy Lennox, Casey Deacy and Many others. Jeff Leopard kinda stuck until 1998 when the band changed it''s name to Jeffer''s Henchmen. They released "The Leopard Years" in 1998 on Catch .22 Records out of Madison. They wrote and recorded over 25 songs in the ten years they played together. Jobs, distance and other life circumstances led to the end of "Jeffer''s Henchmen". Casey Wood finished school and moved to Nashville Tennessee to start his Recording Career. Jeff continued to write songs on either bass or guitar playing in bands in Madison and the central wisconsin area. Once or twice a year he would drive down to Nashville to visit his friend Casey and record new material. There was some instrumental songs, mellow songs and some rock songs. This process has gone on for about ten years. During this time Jeff lent his talents to a myriad of different bands starting most recently with: The Brewins(bass, vocals), The Fuze(Bass, vocals) Styleez(lead guitar), Nemesis Enforcer(lead guitar), Planet of 9(Lead Guitar, vocals), The Dukes(bass, guitar), 60 cycle Hum(Vocals, lead guitar), FIGHT NIGHT(lead vocals, Bass), The Failed Saints(bass, production), The Petrified Alien Brain(bass), Mary and the Mercenaries(bass), Steamroller(lead guitar)Doc Holiday(Lead guitar, vocals), King B(Vocals, bass), Little Mike and the Movers(vocals, bass), The Junkyard Dawgs(vocals, bass), Mesh(lead vocals), Unmolded(lead vocals), Captains Log(Baritone gutar, lead vocals), Jeffer''s Henchmen(Vocals,Guitar and Bass), Delta 9(Vocals,Guitar) .And many more. Which brings us to the Present....It''s been ten years since the release of "The Leopard years". Jeff is now ready to release an album of strictly his own material. With the help of Casey Wood, Nate Mann, Shane S and Rick Gerblick(live band)Brent Bell(Live band) and Tim Hasler(live band). They have completed the fuits of their labor. It''s called "Concussion". In the fall of 2008 Jeff Janikowski, Casey Wood and Nate Mann will release "Concussion" an album thats taken four years to finish... The songs chronicle the last for years of Jeff''s life as honestly as possible. Relationships, betrayals, death threats, loss of loved ones and friends, stories, dreams and nightmares... It''s all in there like a musical journal of sorts. Jeff has put together a live band to play this music. The band consists of Rick Gerblick(Brown 27) on bass and vocals and Bob O''Hare(Colorado native) on drums. This band has been practicing and polishing since March of ''08 and will be playing out very soon under the name ???? No apoligies need to be made because this music will make you feel something...Love it or hate it the time has come for Jeff Janikowski and company to speak out, even if YOU can''t handle the truth...
