The Paradox - For Christ sake... please do not listen to "Somehow You Just Don''t Get It" the first thing in the morning, because it will have you singing it''s tunes all fucking day!

CXDX This 12 song cd is relatively awesome!

Bite Me! - Hippie dippy ecstasy induced music that sounds as it was spawned from the loins of The Partridge Family. Somehow You Just Don''t Get It is loaded with lots of melodic, pop-tinged emotion and saccharine sweet goodness. If you dig Weezer, The Promise Ring, and the make believe band in ''That Thing You Do!'' then you''ll be drooling for Sometimes Seven.

Swizzle-Stick - The sound is clean, the enthusiasm is infectious, and the tempo runs the gamut from fast to faster with one or two racing idles thrown in the mix. I suppose the biggest compliment I can say about the disc is that I still find myself reaching for it at the end of the day when most of the people have left my office and I can turn the disc player up just a bit louder.

Collective - How to convey the sheer delight that washes over me every time I listen to this record.

Spincycle Media, Inc. - ''Somehow You Just Don''t Get It'' is the first album I''ve heard in weeks that made me burst into other people''s offices, yelling "you gotta hear this!" Sometimes Seven makes music that reminds me how much fun my sophomore year of college was punchy melodies under dissonant vocals, with dry production on the CD. They''re growing their audience by leaps and bounds, but I worry about the kind of music they''ll write once they attract steady girlfriends.

Xavier Newswire - Sometimes Seven may be one of the most interesting, talented, and up and coming bands to come out of the Chicago area in recent memory...Phil Avalos establishes himself as a great lyricist throughout the 12 song album. Seriously, these guys are destined for a break very soon. Music this good just has to be heard to believe. Trust me, these have have to be checked out. Not being an easy listener to win over, this cd was in my player for about a month non-stop. You gotta hear this kids, it shouldn''t be missed. 4 stars

https://www.tradebit.com - The guitars are thicker and the drumming more aggressive, but the same wonderful lyrics and riffs remain sweet enough to make your teeth hurt. These guys just make me happy. When vocalist Phil Avalos sings about his ex-girlfriend it feels like paging through your old high school yearbook. No matter how painful and awkward those moments seemed at the time, they now feel like the best times of your life. Maybe it is due to his sometimes cracking vocals, maybe it is his tender lyrics, but the entire album feels like a first crush. I am amazed at how Sometimes Seven can both capture the innocence and energy of a teenager with all the wisdom and clarity of someone much older. If Weezer were to get a little more in touch with its sensitive side, or the Blake Babies learned to rock a bit harder, you might get an approximation of what these guys do with their songs. This is music that is meant to be listened to outside on a sunny afternoon with a group of your closest friends. Kudos to the band and label for producing a great looking album as well. Simple graphics and a pop color scheme match the mood of the album perfectly. If Sometimes Seven continues to grow at the rate they have between their early recordings and this album they will be a serious musical force in no time at all. I hope the number of bass players contributing to this album is not an indicator of a fluctuating lineup because they already sound just perfect the way they are.
