Details:
L.B. started singing at Corinthian Baptist Church in Waterloo, Iowa when he was seven years old, in the choir under the direction of his uncle and cousin. Coming from a family of singers, singing was second nature for L.B. His uncles formed a gospel duo called the “Bruce Brothers”, who are highly respected in the community and region. L.B. also performed with his cousins at many churches and community events. While walking through the school hallways he sang, on his job he sang and when he woke up in the morning, he was singing. Everywhere L.B. went he did what he loved doing most, he sang.
In his early teens L.B. formed a group call B-Connection, where his was lead. The group was made up of L.B., his cousin and two close friends. The concept of their group name came from the fact that all of the members last name started with a "B". The group performed at many local talent shows and gained notoriety throughout the city and state. B-Connection soon captured the attention of Russ Tidwell who saw the potential of these four energetic young boys took them under his wings and began to market their talent in throughout the Midwest.
B-Connection performed as an opening act for many notable musicians. In 1991 they opened for Prince at the Grand Slam in Minnesota, Janet Jackson at the State Fair Convention in Minnesota and Doug E Fresh at the Martin Luther King Center in Minnesota. They also had the privilege of opening for then up and coming rapper known as Mr. Tongue Twister (today known as Twista) at the Electric Park Ballroom in Waterloo, Iowa in 1992. The group also recorded an album in 1992 titled "Forever Love Affair" with Excel Productions of Minneapolis, MN, soon after the group became local celebrities. The year 1993 brought opportunities for B-Connection to perform on the same stage with artists like Jodeci and Tony Terry.
Just as the group was beginning to blaze a trial for what was coming to be a budding musical career, issues with management and the production company surfaced. B-Connection, being so young lost direction and the group slowly fell apart, leaving the members discouraged and disappointed.
Years went by and the B-Connection members were all leading separate lives but L.B. still carried a torch for singing. His talented was well recognized and appreciated, he was often hired to sing at weddings, funerals and other special events in the local area.
In 2003 L.B. opened for JA Rule, Kelly Roland and Benzino at the University of Northern Iowa. He also had the opportunity to perform at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas that same year. Performing as the opening act for the American Idols Live Concert in Seattle, Wa July of 2004 and with Lil Scrappy in December of 2004 were exhilarating experiences for L.B.
L.B. never gave up on his dream to becoming well known and respected throughout the industry as one of the best solo R&B singers ever to come along. As a result of his unwavering commitment and drive, he is now well on his way to achieving that goal.
L.B. is currently under the management of H2O Entertainment and has a recording contract with Breloro Records an independent record company out of Seattle Washington.
