Details:
Steve Clarke is a very diverse songwriter and recording artist from New Jersey, USA. He experiments with exotic world, and funky instrumental music. Steve plays acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, synthesizers, and percussion instruments. He plays, record, and manipulates everything in Pro-Tools, to create this unique and original fusion of sound! This is wild experimental instrumental music. Some of these compositions started with odd sources of inspiration. “Blowtorch” uses howling wind recorded during a windstorm as a starting point for wild synthesizer and percussion overdubs and improvisations. With “Zulu”, Steve recorded a keyboard sequencer stuck playing a fast haywire part, and then he added great melodies and an Indian vibe to it. Steve recorded a 4-track cassette tape playing backwards from a regular 2-track tape machine to capture crazy backwards/half-speed bass and keyboard swells, and suction sounds hence the title, “Vacum”. Steve Clarke pushes the boundaries of instrumental art and modern digital production, to create strange but beautiful worlds of music! He likes to push his limits, always trying new techniques and exploring new musical forms and styles. This C.D. was re-mastered this year to great results. This is truly a spacey, crazy, world trip, listening experience !
