Details:
Nick Leland
Nick started his interest in music when he was around 14 yrs. Old. He had a brother that was a little older who played the keyboards and loved to entertain people wherever they might be. He played along with some older fellows early on, the likes of Shorty Avery and the Pickers. He also liked to get together with friends and pick a couple chords and work them out until it was break time. Some of those included Dan Witte, John Markland, those wild and crazy Buetler Boys, Greg Goodman, Mark Lambert, Randee Falter, Jim Casey and a bunch of others.
Leland who at the time was a bass player would jump at any chance to play when he was younger. After working with several bands Leland was asked to work with Papa Doodah beginning a thirty year songwriting experiment. Leland also worked with members of the Smoke Ring. Jim Casey remembers sitting on Leland’s folk’s front porch and learning original songs. He says that’s when it dawned on him that Nick was a very creative person.
Nick hooked up with his brother, providing entertainment, on some cruise liners in the Florida area for a couple years. This gave him the opportunity to see some of the Carribean, Florida then up to Alaska and then back to the south east. He came back to Nebraska around 2005 and has been here since. He’s started several CD projects but never got them to the point where he figured they were finished. This one is, and it’s for your listening pleasure, Enjoy !!!
