Details:
1. I believe this song started with my sister’s ex-boyfriend “Mallury Murder” from French metal band Crack Ov Dawn playing Joey-Ts bass guitar. He played the spooky sounding bassline and did the intro narration in his native tounge. I remember we (mainly he) had killed a bottle of jack. My sister is also heard screaming on the track. This was all spontaneous and took a short while to complete. “Night of the living dead” is sampled here.
2. I found the sample on a cd from my dads cd collection. Beatwise, this shit is great. I remember writing the 3 verses in one sitting. The verses were what I consider “practice raps”. I wrote them all in a hurry after being inspired by whatever had inspired me at the moment. I never intended to really use, but what the fuck? I did write em. “Driller Killer” and “King of the Zombies” is sampled here.
3. Double Feature was a fun song to write. I had this concept of going to the drive in and movie hoping between 2 movies. The 1st & 3rd verses are one whole story about some fresh, out of county tweeker, inspired after my car had been broken into for the first time. The 2nd verse I recorded in a slightly lower vocal tone, JoeyT had flipped the beat to match the lower vocal tone. I think “Drive In Massacre” & “Driller Killer” were sampled for this. I don’t remember.
4. I brought this fairly new song sample to Joey T one day, he had an easy time flipping it and making a classic record. I wrote the 1st verse on the spot. As you can here I mention ‘tronikfuq’ on the verse because this was made before I had the whole zombifuq idea thought out. This may have been the first song I recorded for zombifuq. “Night of the living dead” is sampled, giving props to the original song by mentioning ‘karen’. “City of the Dead” is also sampled.
5. This song was also one of the first songs I made for zombifuq. If I look at my old notes for a tronikfuq 2nd album, this song along with ‘zombies don’t love her’ are included on the track listing. I had wrote the chorus many years ago hence the “im 22”. When I recorded the chorus I thought “should I just say my actual age or keep it the way I wrote it?”. Being live in the booth, I sometimes make crazy decisions. “The Brain that wouldn’t die” and “Clash of the Titans” is sampled.
6. This song was written in a solid 20 minutes in my parked car on mchenry ave. I had just left anger management and got of the phone after having a heated “conversation”. Playing on repeat, I wrote it to a song by Black Market Militia (Wu). That beat is dope! Joey T played all the sounds on the song, including bass and guitar. I had the idea to add Maryel on the song talking all the shit I would hear in “conversation”. I placed this song after track 5 on purpose to show my “growth” in one of my relationships. “Clash of the Titans” is sampled here. The sample at the end of the song is really dope, but I cant remember what movie it’s from.
7. I met Raphael in art class. He was an interesting person to talk to. His art was dark and often reflected how he felt or felt at some point in his life. I met up with Raphael in Merced after performing a show and we used Joey Ts mp3 player to record this in the alley behind the Manzier Theatre. I haven’t seen or heard about Rapha since. “Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things” is sampled.
8. This song was interesting to make. I remember driving around being SUPER heated and calling Joey T saying “lets make a song”. I think I told Joey to make something aggressive so he picked up his guitar and made this crazy sounding shit. I didn’t have anything written but I wanted to record and express how I felt at the time. I had my notebooks with random notes and rhyme words written through out. So I just went in the booth, flipped through the note book and would record 2 or 4 bars at a time until I had two 24 bar verses. The chorus chant “blamma” was also on the spot and helped me express how I felt. Hella days later, I added the chorus with a nod to RBL Posse and Tribe. I also had Maryel say a lil something. The song was also purposely placed after tracks 5 & 6. I think the samples on here are from “The Brain that Wouldn’t Die” and I think the “Carnival of Souls” trailer.
