Formed in 2006 on the San Francisco peninsula, the band consists of Gustavo Gaytan (guitar), Lindsay Green (drums), the international_super_bert (bass), and David Messimore (vocals). Performing and recording since soon after its inception, the band released its first full length album, Black Acacias are “really real,” in the fall of 2008. The album showcases a variety of styles, with songs showing influences ranging from 30’s jazz to 60’s pop through punk, post-punk and beyond, yet it still maintains to present an artistic coherency.
