MP3 Jeff Strahan & The Strangers - A Little North of the Border

This album is definitely Rock & Roll with Country and Blues overtones. Lyrically deep at times and humorous and light at others.

10 MP3 Songs
BLUES: Texas Style, COUNTRY: Country Rock

Details:
This band rocks! You can definitely hear the years of Texas living and honky tonk playing in Strahan''s voice and lyrics. The music is high powered most of the time and subtly touching at others. If you like Marshall Tucker, Lynard Skynard, SRV, and Lyle Lovett, you''ll like this new sound!! Check it out, you won''t be disappointed.

Biographical history:

JEFF STRAHAN & THE STRANGERS
A Rocking Country Blues band out of Durango, CO.
Who are they?

1. Jeff Strahan-Guitar Vocals & Keys
JEFF grew up in Lamesa, Texas (where the hell is that?) and began playing professionally at age 12 in regional Country, Rock, and Gospel bands.

He has played with:

Hot Silk, out of Lubbock, Texas
FEVER, out of Austin, Texas
The RAGE out of San Diego, California
Tracer out of Memphis, Tennessee
Cheetah out of Austin
Buck Naked out of El Paso
and many others.

Jeff is a seasoned and professional player making a living doing what he loves

2. Bill Boyer-Bass Guitar
BILL is from San Diego California and began playing at the age of 12 in local clubs, theaters, etc. Bill honed his bass and guitar skills in many California bands until 1974 when he moved to Colorado. Bill first moved to Breckenridge and was pretty much a ski bum savoring the laid back lifestyle there and enjoying his days. In 1980 Bill moved to Durango and began playing with popular local bands such as Fall Line, Bondad Boogie Cadets, Puddin'' Head, Dangertones, After Hours, Jungle, and Tim Sullivan & Narrow Gauge. Bill opened Bandwagon Music Store in Durango in 1983 and did well with that business until he sold it in 1988. Since then, he has been living on his ranch on the Dolores River raising and training horses as well as playing music 3 to 4 nights a week. Bill is the calming force of the band and keeps his attention on all the details. He is an extremely good musician and shines like the sun on his bass guitar.

3. Todd Kirkland-Drums
TODD was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He has played in many different bands with a focus on original music. Todd moved to Alabama in the mid-90''s and his band, "Driftwood" recorded an album in 1996 called "Floater." Drifter eventually broke up when Todd moved to Durango in 1999. The guitar player from Driftwood, Michael Ingalls, is now the lead guitarist for Stevie Ray Vaughn''s band Double Trouble. Like Jeff & Bill, Todd has also been playing since his Junior High days and is a very seasoned and professional player. He has played in numerous bands in the Durango area like Kirk James Blues Band and Tim Sullivan & Narrow Gauge. Todd creates the root of a solid and dynamic rhythm section in this power trio, the Strangers. Todd had this to say about the Strangers: "My motto is THE GROVE KEEPS US ALIVE and since I''ve joined the Strangers, the grove is better than ever. Nothing but fun and excitement. Jeff''s songwriting is the greatest and the chemistry with he and Bill is incredible."

IN SUMMARY, this is a well-seasoned professional group of musicians. Jeff says "we play in a trio because it is a challenge, it allows for dynamic and volume control, and gives us each our own artistic freedom we do not have with 4 or 5 piece bands." The number one thing about this band is they have FUN! They are easy to get along with, egos are not permitted, and they relate to the crowd!
