Details:
Talented, energetic, and original are just a few words to describe us. Who could this be, none other than The Fabulous Stroka Band.
It''s September 1998 and a group of young intelligent minds attending the John H. Woodson Jr. High school are forming together a band to perform at their school''s talent show. The beginning of this new success, all started on a small porch in Yellow Cedar. Jason, Rolando, Gabriel, Jeff, and Archibald were the brains of this grand idea. The day is here and the time has come for our first practice. From this practice motivation came around, we were told to continue with what we started. The word is out and others are hearing about us and everyone wants to be apart of this event. Now appearing on the scene is Pascal on the mic. After months of practice the new year has arrived, and we are now ready for our very first performance, that took place on February 26, 1999 in Sion Farm, which brought out many supporters and fans. The band is now on it''s way to do great things for the people of https://www.tradebit.comix U.S Virgin Islands. Just when we taught everything was going well, our first disappointment occurred. The school''s talent show that we had practiced so hard for was cancelled, putting our hopes down but inspiring us not to give up. Stepping up a notch to fulfill our dreams and prosper our goals, we strived for additional help, finding Akil and Nathan. It''s official that the band is now in the process of progressing with many play outs. Bringing a helping hand to the band, Spud. Then later leaving the island. The band still move on impressing others while influencing and welcoming our newest member, Teroy but sadly saying goodbye to Jeff and Akil(basically organizing the band). It''s back to where it all began we are finally getting the opportunity to play at John H. Woodson Jr. High School, ending the year with a big success. The millennium has brought us our most recent member AJ while exposing us with many back yard parties. These exposures gave us an experience to night clubs with our first jam along side The Awesome Jam Band in Sequence night club, bringing us to our premier stage performance with dancers at the Hal Jackson Talented Teen show at Island Center which involved the media. During this exciting moment exactly one month later, the band brought out their very first cd entitled Summer 2000 Live, sadly finding out that our keyboardist Nathan was leaving the island. Replacement was then taken over by Alvin, along with Archibald and Pascal trading places with Norman and Skepple. After a few practices, Skepple left while Ledesma filled in the gap. With these changes we did a few gigs and felt that it was time for us to step up, producing our first single CD with the hit song "Enough is Enough" pertaining to the teacher''s strike that year making that our first time in a studio. It prompted us to take part in the upcoming festival activities and put out our second song "Shaka Zulu".

Starting the New Year in style, Stroka Band participates in the 2001 Festival Village, Jouvert, and Adults parade. As Festival finished , AJ left but we didn''t hesitate to continue spreading our talent throughout the island. We got hired from promoters that loved our style in performance such as Peppy, Larry ,Anthony and Travel In Style. Peppy being the only one of the two that stuck by our side. As we continue venturing through 2001 we found our selves in a home made studio creating "Jou''va Mass" our Festival song for 2002. As Festival was over, things were starting to look better than ever until a crisis took place, Alvin, Ledesma, and Norman left dividing the band and leaving behind the foundation. This happened over envy, jealousy and greed dropping us to rock bottom. Fans left along with respect leading destruction. Stroka Band was now out of service do to lack of confidence in our music. Finally after months of laying low, we recuperated . As easy as it may seem, it was hard to continue where we left off. The band was under construction for quite awhile. As time pass the band would repeatedly stop and start until we considered to seek help, which we found later down the year of 2002. With management from Boyo later leaving the island leaving us manager less, the band was still able to revive strength and confidence in what we use that others didn''t seem to choose, our god gifted talent. While we geared up for festival 2003 with our song "Iron" and later "Crazy" for St. Thomas Carnival. Thanks to Boyo we found Studio 6 where we first met Rolston Pemberton our music producer. The band began to progress slowly but surely and then added Ana to the band . Still we strive for additional help trying to keep up with others but still lacking something else. We were now looking at haters and betrayers. We continued to practice and play out until it was time for another error in the band. N.N. left, convincing the band that no matter what, we will never give up. Now bring back Ledesma, Alvin along with new comer Shamal. The band seem ready for combat, which ended up in failure, teaching us never to step back, always keep forward. Alvin along with Shamal left to start their own band inviting Jamal to our band. It was now time for an outstanding come back for Festival 2003. We were back in the village, open tramp and also Jouvert . The band never had a sponsor, everything always came out our own pocket. The year start alright except Jouvert, when some fool slammed their car in the back of the truck destroying our speakers. No one didn''t support us due to the tragic circumstances. Other than that the band planned to make a new entry along with surprises for the next year. While working overtime, we made an outstanding come back on Marley beach (Fredriksted) alongside Tray-S Sounds accomplishing our dreams. Promoting the band caused more members to join. Now live drums were introduced to the band between Mickie and Delroy. Then later arriving was Jose on the Saxophone bring more energy to the band. It was now time to put the other bands to the test by showing them how real this band can get. Summer 2004 was just the time to show people how extreme this band can be. We made history when we kicked off our very first Stop the Violence tramp in July.
Just being the first to come up with the idea of tramping in the town of Fredriksted, caused the band to be even more respectable but honorable for our unique ways. Everything went good up until the police ask the band to stop causing a riot making the band look bad. We didn''t really care about the crisis that took place. It was not the bands fault. We did what we was told to do and accomplish our goal by distributing our time, money and music to the community. As the weekend was over the airwaves were full of gossip and bad at that. No one but our fans didn''t even thank the band for such outstanding work. But that didn''t stop us from what we had in store for St. Croix. Our prayers were answered. Thank you Lord. Rolston Pemberton being our music producer then later became our very own manager. Now things were looking organize for the band while we awaiting Festival 2004-2005. Our plan is to take part in everything and release our first album entitled Having a Party along with Road March title. As time pass we work over time in the studio and took our group picture. Just to think about it, this is our first year we have ever work so early yet still so hard for something we want so bad. Summer was soon over taking away Jason our bass player that been there from the start now leaving to go for awhile. Substituting for him until his arrival was Raheem. While preparing, we planned for our album release party. Now it was time to release our very first song for the year 2004,"Following we" (Please tell me). Our very first slow song dub plate hit, that crash the airwaves. Then later sending a message while "Having a Party". A mid tempo song to jump start things. And finally the moment every one was waiting for. One of our Road March song, "Hyper Booty". Three mash up hits that cause our album to sold out before it even hit stores. It was December 17, 2004 when Stroka Band has gotten our very first interview live on X Factor a local television show. Right after that the next day we held our surprise, welcome back, album release party all in one bring back Jason on bass replacing Raheem. We had even brought down Big Band from https://www.tradebit.commas to play longside we. We also introduce our very own dance squad that same night along with our new recruited member Chewy. After that exciting weekend we play out to Christmas parties beginning the Festival with open tramp and end the year starting the New year in the village. Now later starting the Jouvert morning in style with hundreds of Hyper booties and ending the Festival in the parade with our on squad of Hyper Booties and queen of the squad that was crowned on New Years morning in the village. The band did excellent this year than any other year before and still our island still cant give us credit other than better look next year winning the title Road March. That''s alright. Its ok, we''re still going to make it any way. With or with out our goal , its already said we are https://www.tradebit.comix''s Ultimate weapon and still the best from west to east. The band continues to strive for promotion off and on island. While awaiting our journey, we would like to take this time to thank our manger, fans and helpers like Baby J. , Kemron and Jordin for being there with us step by step including our very own Road Crew Emile , Kiente and die heart supporters. Cant forget Peppy ,Dizzy and Tray S. along the other sounds. God bless and give thanks to all.
