Remember to Forget is the debut album any 21st century pop/rock lover has been waiting for. Vicious Starfish delivers a rhythm-driven mix of one part classic rock, one part 80''s synthpop, with a little dash of everything that was good about 90''s music, topped off with a respectful salute to the songwriting style of Lennon and McCartney. With their own unique and modern twist on these inspirations, the band utilizes catchiness while still pushing musical limits. Leaving each of their separate former bands in search of something new, Justin Carrell (formerly of reggae-rock band Dirty Copper) and brothers Austin Merkley (of prog-rock band Cynical Grace) and Nathan Merkley (from punk-rock band The Neatos) joined together to form Vicious Starfish in the summer of 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. With Justin on bass, Nathan on drums and keyboard, and Austin on guitar and vocals, they pooled their vast assortment of influences into a cohesive song-making machine. After shelving two written albums, the band finally found artistic satisfaction in their third creation, Remember to Forget. With Skaught Parry (frontman for the Salt Lake City band Ayin) as their producer/engineer, the band entered the studio armed with twelve songs and their obsessive attention to detail. When they came out, they brought with them an album that listeners will not forget to remember.
