Hi, My name is Chris Surdock. I have been leading worship in San Diego, California for approximately 9 years. I just released my first Worship Album titled "I''m so Excited".
I believe that as a Worship Leader, I must stir up desire in the heart of the believer to "get real and worship God in a more intimate way!" After all He deserves it, right? I really strive to lead worship by example. After all, I couldn''t possibly lead others into worship if I am not worshiping Him first?
There is something about sincere worship that really grabs a hold of you.
I believe that if I can disappear from the eyes of the people during the worship by turning their eyes towards the Lord, then I have been successful in fulfilling my duty as a Worship Leader. My desire is that the worshiper will learn to be expressive in their worship to God. I know that worshiping God is instrumental in preparing the heart of the worshiper to hear and receive God''s word. I like to teach people to worship God in a way that is freeing to the spirit. And by the way... (David danced). I hope that my music helps you to experience worship in a New and Fresh way.
I did not make this CD so that I could be a cool guy and have one like everybody else in this world. For me, it was a time of obedience to the Lord when I answered a call to take my heart for worship and my heart for drawing people into the Presence of God, and somehow try to capture that and put in a form that people could take with them where they go. And as they pop the CD in, there is no focus on me, but the focus is directed towards the Lord God Almighty who deserves our praise. I must say that I am well pleased with the CD. Since I am more of a live Worship type leader, I was wondering how I was going to capture my heart in the recording process. God proved faithful and showed that He is in control and that His Spirit is overwhelming in the words and music on this CD. I hope and pray that you enjoy it as much as I do!
Recording this album was an incredible blessing. Not only to sing with my great friend and co-vocalist Tara Sartain, along with all of the band members; Jason Pich(Bass), Jason Presley(Drums), John Williams "Jdubb" (Keys), John Spencer(Drums) and Joey Casora(Sax), but especially the door that God opened for me to record at 82A Studios in Chula Vista, CA. The owner of the studio, and the engineer of my album, Tony Abat, was an incredible blessing in my life. He really went for the Gold. I never imagined that I would end up with a CD that sounded as incredible as this one does. The quality of the recording is phenomenal. You gotta hear it! Thanks Tony!
