Details:
Old School. Texas. Country. In April of 2007, Born-Again Texan Jeremy Steding declared Independence from main stream music, headed west to Austin and dedicated his life to playing country music the way it originated - Raw and Real. Bringing with him 9 studio tracks, and an idea called "Whiskey Songs and Prison Songs". Steding and his band share a common love for Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Budweiser Beer and a belief that the band should have as much fun as anyone in the building. In the summer of 2007, Jeremy began performing acoustic shows in central Texas. Having experienced the thrill of playing for 1,000''s before, (opening for Ronny Milsap and John Anderson in Florida) Jeremy was forming a Texas band and starting from scratch in the shot bars of 6th Street.

“This music sells my bar more beer than any band we’ve ever had” – Robert Drummond, General Manager, Shakespeare’s Pub, Austin, TX.

“This is some kick ass, drinking music!” – “Rowdy” Tignes, disc jockey, KOOP.

In January 2008 "The Jeremy Steding Band" was born. Known in elite circles as, "Jeremy Steding and Band of Bastards", these upstanding citizens combine to create a sound that is countryer than you.

Nick Gardner (lead guitar), a learned student of the Berklee School of Music, spends most of his free time at Lady Bird Lake, asking for guidance from the statue of Stevie Ray Vaughn. Always quick to ask, "Very well Esteban, but what would Luther Perkins do?", Nick finds the balance and guidance in these influences to play some of the finest lead Telecaster in Texas.

On the low end, Mr. Marc Curry (bass) joins this Band of Bastards, growing his beard and hair longer every day, as proof of his tireless dedication to disorder. Marc''s impecable boom-chick bass-lines are the platform for this country music.

Matt Winegardner (drums), brilliantly pleases the ears with a couple of sticks and number of hollowed out cylinders. Originally hailing from Iowa, Matt was most recently heard performing with the Dallas band, Macon Grayson, and has spent time on the road keeping rhythm for the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash.

Jeremy Steding and The Band of Bastards began touring the fine state of Texas in January of 2008, promoting their own unique brand of country music. Old-fashioned, but faster than hell. In a few short months, Jeremy and the band have already had the privilege of performing at top-tier venues, including The Granada Theater (Dallas), The Continental Club (Austin), The Cheatham Street Warehouse (San Marcos), as well as making regular appearances at The Saxon Pub (Austin) and Poodie''s Hilltop Lounge (Spicewood). Additionally, in 2008, the band has opened for Texas greats such as Kevin Fowler, Doug Moreland and the legendary Dale Watson.

In February of 2008, "Jack Daniels" was released as the first single from the debut CD, "Whiskey Songs and Prison Songs". The fast paced drinking song was widely acclaimed and in the first 6 months on the radio, the song was played over 2,000 times by Maverick Country Stations across Texas and the South.

“Jeremy Steding "gets" what we do here (in Texas).” -
Adam Drake, KAGG-FM Bryan/College Station

Now, Jeremy Steding and The Band of Bastards join together, often with guests, creating a show that has the fans returning and spending their hard earned cash on CD’s and Whiskey. Performing critically acclaimed original songs and always paying homage to the honky-tonk legends. The band is off-center enough to be Genuine Austin, and country enough to be Authentic Texas!

I like (Jeremy Steding''s) music! It''s a nice blend of country and hip. - Roger McGuinn, living legend, founder of The Byrds.

"Whiskey Songs and Prison Songs" has great production quality and plenty of hooks, but Jeremy''s sincerity and charisma is best experienced in person. - Mark Wollenborg KVUE, founder Blitzkrieg Media

“Jeremy Steding is a new guy on the scene and you need to check him out!” You won’t be disappointed!” Katie Key, editor, Texas Music Chart

On October 1, 2008, "Auburn" will be released to Texas Radio, and the goal is to get this song into the Texas Top 10. Please help send "Auburn" to the Texas Music Charts!"

"I sincerely appreciate y''all. I am very grateful to have such an incredible group of friends/fans and family, and I''m thankful to be playing this music out of the greatest city on Earth, Austin, TX!" - Jeremy Steding, front gentleman, Jeremy Steding and The Band of Bastards

AUTHENTIC. TEXAS. COUNTRY.
