TAMING INGRID is the Newest and Freshest sounding Pop Music band to hit the Scene! Currently based out of Orange County, California, their unique sound combines good old-fashioned American Pop music with a Groovy backbone and a modern edge. 4 Special Ingredients: A powerful, melodic, sexy lead Vocalist with stage presence that''ll leave you in awe....
At age 2, Monica (originally from San Jose, California) started turning off the TV and putting on her own song and dance for whomever was watching - her folks immediately directed her to every dance and vocal lesson they could find time for. She performed her first show at age 4, where she sang and danced to a choreographed routine in front of a group of 10,000. Soon after, poems and lyrics began forming. By age 13 she had written numerous songs. Years later, she decided to put together a band ----- or three. The moons aligned as a friend introduced her to the person who had what it took to pave the way for success.
It was clear from the first day that Rhonda''s (who grew up in Newport Beach, California) hooky and dynamic guitar riffs and solos, complimenting backing vocals, great ear for songwriting, and sultry appearance would break the stereotypes and impress even the shredder dudes. Rhonda came from a very musical family where guitar, piano and percussion were first nature. Once she had all of that down, she decided guitar was the most intriguing, and that she needed to learn every song on the radio. Frightfully, she was determined to do so. Day after day she would click on the radio and learn everything from Led Zeppelin to Michael Jackson. Such persistence made her a wonderfully rounded musician capable of fusing multiple styles into a commercially hooky tune while keeping it real to her classic roots. It was time to add a backbone to the songs, so the girls set out to find their next member.
After sending out emails and ads via search engines all the way across the US, they found their gem less than 5 miles away. Drew (originally from Syracuse, New York) brought in a rare trait -- dynamic and tasteful drumming which respected both the vocal and guitar melodies. Having come from a family of musicians, Drew had learned from the greatest - his father and brother. This solid drummer brought in yet another crucial element - strong backing vocals and the ability to harmonize to anything.
The final link turned out to be the most difficult to find as the standard for quality musicians was getting higher.
As Lee walked in for his audition, he knew the pressure was on. In three songs, he would have to prove himself to the committee. Having grown up in Las Vegas, Nevada and having educated both via ''the books'' and through the real sweat of 4 hour cover gigs over the years, Lee knew that playing in an original pop act was what he really wanted. The question was: could he lock in with the groove feel of Drew''s kick yet know when to divert to supporting Rhonda''s riffs with a fine-o-mite melody that didn''t take from the vocals - could he sing strong backing vocals - and was he the right guy to join the family? Yup. All that and he was cute and spunky, bringing in a dynamic stage performance to enhance the already mesmerizing act. Taming Ingrid had found the link that would tie together the instruments like the jelly on my peanut butter sandwich.
Taming Ingrid has it all...and the world is taking notice! Hooky, commercial songs that keep it real to the crucial elements taught by our ''greats'', a stage show that drives you back for more, universal backing vocals with beautifully sculpted harmonies enveloping the already mesmerizing pop sound, and it doesn''t hurt that they are all extremely aesthetically pleasing!
They are currently sponsored by Budweiser True Music Live, and endorsed by Martin, PRS, Taylor Guitars, Dunlop Guitar Accessories, and Dean Markley Strings -- their songs are circulating on MTV reality shows and are on over 60 National radio stations (and growing) -- to top it off, their Publicist is making sure every radio station, newspaper and magazine in the US (to start) shines a light on this tasty subject matter.
