Details:
THE GREAT COLLAPSE

"The Great Collapse" is a five-piece, female fronted band from Toronto ON. They blend a diverse variety of sounds including extreme metal, industrial, jazz, classical and progressive rock. The end result is a very unique, refreshing and somewhat shocking sound.

Their debut self titled album, recorded by Greg Dawson at BWC studios (The End, Moneen, Choke, Mare, Starring Janet Leigh ect..), was released January 2009.

The Great Collapse was formed in 2007 by Luke Roberts (Guitar) and Cameron Warrack(Drums), formerly from Toronto band "Archaeon" (2000 -2005). They then found : Angela Wheeler - vox, Mike Simpson - bass and Brett Leier - guitar to complete the current lineup.

This band went through several stages before becoming what it is now.
The older incarnations of the band "Archaeon" and "Malignity", appealed to a more exclusively metal audience.
The new, unusual sound this band has found for this album is much more of
a bold artistic step that neither panders specifically to metal heads or any classifiable mold of mainstream music.

The Great Collapse has shared the stage with such acts as: Dimmu Borgir, Cryptopsy, Quo Vadis, Martyr, Augury, Macabre, Threat Signal, Unexpect, Misery Index, Fuck the Facts, Behold ...the Arctopus, Psyopus, Cephalic Carnage and Today is the Day.
