Details:
Paul Gordon Elliott Jr. (aka Gordon Elliott, to avoid confusion in the household), was born in Chicago, Ill. Music became a part of his life early on while listening to his "banned" music on a crystal radio at night, even picking up Wolfman Jack all the way from Texas to the Great Plains states. After many numerous schools and towns, Milwaukee, WI became home for 9 years. His Dad brought a guitar home from a Mexican business trip. Enough interest eventually warranted an electric guitar and a few lessons. In high school, he was lucky to find like minded good friends who formed a band ("the Outlaws"). They played the usual sock hops, CYO''s, and HS dances. The band went forward playing for the many "teen bars" that surrounded the Milwaukee area in the 60''s.

Eventually, college and the military draft brought changes to the early formative group. Many groups later, in many different formats, he played clubs, lounges and other venues throughout the Midwest states. Some early recordings were done with some of these groups. In 1968, he joined an unusual and original music group called SHAG, who had a popular recording out on Capitol Records. SHAG was given the opportunity to move to the San Francisco area that same year. They built a studio out in the redwoods of Marin County, and then started playing all the major venues and ballrooms in the area. The very first SF gig was opening for the Jefferson Airplane in Golden Gate Park in 1969. They spent time on the road, as well as many gigs in LA, including a showcase at the "Whiskey". Unfortunately, through poor management, the group never signed a record deal, which eventually caused another rock band to break up. Some recording was done, most of which never saw the light of day until Gear Fab Records recently released "Shag 1969".

Next, he helped form "Elixir", with remnants of Shag and a Chicago group called HP Lovecraft. Gordon played with some other local major names, but only as a latter entrant.

Always a fan of every phase of the industry, Gordon spent time doing studio design and construction, including a personal facility housing 8 & 24 track rooms as a commercial venture. He never strayed from his "singer/songwriter/guitar player" status, but spent time as well, engineering and producing projects. While raising a family, he managed an audio production department for a local duplicator (cassettes and CD''s) and handled mastering duties as well.

A second cycle started some years back, and the idea was to recapture the original attraction to music… Enjoyment! More guitars and recording equipment and here we are today, playing and recording for the pure and simple enjoyment! With an independent recent release of a 5 song CD, he continues to write and record new material. While doing only small limited performances on rare occasions, his goal is to find placement of a tune or two with active signed artists. The rest is the simple fun of having a "hobby" that still exudes genuine passion, even after the many years.
