Berkowitz- Three Ton Gate, ex-Marilyn Manson, ex-the Spooky Kids), Metho.d. (Godhead), Barclay Crenshaw (Intellect DVD) and Jamie Osborn, Mark Damian (Cleanse, ex-Sweatysuedelips), Richard Pierce (Spookdaddy, 3sic7s), Scotty G and Mark Nilan of Livewire Studios.
The sound is deep, rich, intricate, and simultaneously primal. It rewards careful listening. It is especially good LOUD.
This is the regular CD version of the previously released limited edition (the vinyl, studded TCR DVD style "book" with burned edges). The music is exactly the same; both version contain lyrics and the same great artwork.

This is the best goth/industrial/darkwave album i''ve ever seen and heard. I go to the other, hypnotic world when listening to it. Absolutely great and I''m really really glad that I have it.

Chrome Recordings Review March 2004 The Chrome Recordings cannot in anyone''s rational world, be compared to anything I have ever heard. We can play the "it sounds sort of like a ______________ meets ______________ hybrid with no teeth and a tail with a little influence from ______________ when they were in thier __________ era" game , but I really feel like doing that would take away from the beauty and much-deserved praise this record is entitled to. TC and Robin Moulder came into this endeavor not really knowing what they were in for. Now, three years later, the product of a project that began only in theory has been realized and has exceeded every expectation. Upon first hearing this record, I listened with the intentional sterility of a critic- jotting down notes about each track as I went through. I brought it in the car with me. I missed a turn and drove through a neighborhood I did not know very well. I felt like I was in a movie. It occurred to me that I should really be driving a sleek black automob. and wearing dark sunglasses. I had the music loud and i could hear all of the little background sounds and layers that I didn''t catch the first time. At points, I felt a little frightened. especially during the interludes, thus making me appriciate them even more, as they are a necessity if not only for the sole purpose of being extremely unnerving. If I were going to write a horror movie, The Chrome Recordings would be the soundtrack. If I were going to write a love story, I''d turn it into a rock opera that is this record! It is packed with incredible examples of vocal layering, gorgeous guitar and bass lines, killer beats, and fantastic breakdowns that set the tone for issues of death, obsession, lonliness, self-acceptance, abuse, strength, and other situations that are addressed within the spectrum of the album. It''s been a long time since I have felt such a huge range of emotions while listeneing to a single record. Robin Moulder and TC have proven not only to be phenominal musicians on the cutting edge of their profession, but also very real and kind-hearted individuals who are willing to give back to thier supporters. They have managed to keep it together while living halfway across the country from eachother and holding down day jobs while somehow being able to also support thier respective families and deal with other obligations. Could you be any more with it?! These women are incredible! Now that we''ve established that the music is fabu, let''s talk about the packaging. The DVD-style case with hand-studded cover and parchment-like booklet with handburnt pages has just now totally derailed the mainstream of jewelcases as we know it. I look at my CD collection and mourn the symmetrical monotony of all the cracked and scratched plastic. The covers don''t even stay on anymore! The Chrome Recordings is one CD, case and all, that you won''t let slide under the seat of your car. Dance party to makeout session, this record will not only make you the envy of all your friends, it''ll get you laid!

I''m not good at these sorts of things, but let me tell you something. BUY THIS CD. It is AMAZING. From Suddenly, to Depth Perception, to Priscilla (with the bone chilling last lines), to ALL the remixes. Not to mention the awesome interludes. It''s just an all-around GREAT BUY. Worth every penny. It should be going for more money actually, because it''s just THAT GOOD. So buy it, and you won''t regret it. I promise!

I''m not going to lie. This is the best CD i''ve purchased in long time. It''s simply fabulous! I''ve had it for a couple of weeks now, I can''t stop listening to it and I still can''t decide on a favorite song. As of today it is "Suddenly" because I love how the smooth sultry vocals switch back and forth with the growly aggressive vocals and how it all blends perfectly with the music. The lyrics are inspiring, the music cascades over you like silk falling from the sky, the various types of vocals used keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the interludes are a special treat. Plus the packaging is so exciting you''ll dance. Just wait. You will dance with joy. Buy it! It isn''t possible to be disappointed, there is something for everyone.

The packaging is just really fucking creative. Is it a bible, or is it a CD case?! Well, either way, I will still be worshipping it. I heard the samples on https://www.tradebit.com, although I tried my best to stay from listening in advanced. Wow. I really am speechless. Suddenly has changed so much. In the original TCR Medley that was released via https://www.tradebit.com, that had to have been my favorite tune on that. Once the drums and music kick in, in Suddenly, that guitar sends shivers down my spine (done excellently by Robin Moulder, and ex Marilyn Manson guitarist Scott Putesky.) I LOVE it. And it just keeps rockin''. Excellent vocal work on this one, I love the effects done to TC''s voice as well. It has a slight 70''s feel, but with much darker edge. This is one of my favorite tracks. Everything about it? Perfect. In the song Depth Perception (track 4) it''s a very noisy and rockin'' messy guitar-driven track, with the bass flowing in the background. I wouldn''t be lying if I said I thought this track reminded me of (GOOD) grunge, in a slight. Maybe it''s the way it''s mixed, but I can''t help but think that! This is one of my favorites as well. Another favorite song has gotta be The Adventures of Priscilla, track 6. It starts out slightly grunge-sounding, and when the chorus kicks in ("Down the path of righetousness, you think you''re killing me..") it kicks in with a flanger and sounds just great. An interesting take on the ''Alice in Wonderland'' story. The song ends with a sad line that winds it all down ("She will never stop, until she thinks I''m dead. She wants me dead..") Track 7, Depth Perception (get closer) part 1 is a empowering song.. great bass in this one.. I have to say that in all these songs, the drum work is excellent. Fast and unrelenting, I usually don''t pay attention to drums, for some reason, but TCR has a way of bringing them out in a way that just sounds awesome, whether they''re programmed, or live. Track 10 (Lost Forever) is a slow acoustic-guitar tune. It''s interesting, the way the bass was either A) recorded or B) mixed. It sounds ''melted'' into the song. Also has a great piano medley in the middle. A sad song, which is something I love. There''s also a slew of remixes and reworkings, done by The Method of gODHEAD, and TC''s new band, Satiate. Track 17 makes me wanna get up and dance. At first when I heard these, I thought they were extra songs.. it took me a while to realize they''re actually remixes, but they sound so different than the originals! As far as the packaging and lyric sheets, once again I''m at a loss for words. It looks like alot of work was put into these pieces. They''re reminiscent of diary pages (perhaps a reference to Miss Mina''s diary? ) and now thinking about it, the whole package is kind of diary-ish. Down to the key. OK, maybe I *just* got it, but hell. The artwork in the booklet, created by TK is nice and haunting. This artwork fits the machine-likeness of the songs. It fits this album appropriately and I think Robin and TC made a good choice with the direction. The samples here at https://www.tradebit.com don''t do this album justice. In comparison with Jack Off Jill, Robin''s former band that she wrote music for.. I never once thought of them when listening to this album. While JOJ is still awesome, Robin has definitely played with different themes with this album. She''s grown, and matured, and made this *her* album. It''s so diverse and different from anything I''ve heard. But one thing I have noticed between both bands is those damn-catchy bass lines bouncing around. That girl knows what she''s doing with her instrument! Also, if you haven''t ordered and are still reading this, what the fuck are you doing? Do yourself a favor and order it already! I ordered two, myself. Hell, they give you a discount when you buy more than one, and since this is the limited release, why not?!
