Details:
The Double Standard Practice is the brain-child of Mike Clayton. He has been making music for the past twenty-two years in various bands and side projects. His first successful band was Hot Glue Gun. HGG played high energy groove rock in the early 90''s and opened for such bands as Smashing Pumpkins, Primus, and Green Day to name a few. HGG was known to incite riotous dancing mayhem.
When Hot Glue Gun broke up, Mike moved to San Francisco and started working on a more accessable, pop friendly style that blended many types of music into his own unique sound. Frustrated with the S.F. music scene, Mike moved back to the Mid-west five years later to form a new band. Unable to find a drummer, he decided to start recording on his own and learned to play drums himself. As a drummer, he joined an instumental rock band called AD/HD. Playing in this new band pushed his solo music to the backround for a while. After a few years he began to refocus on his own music and started recording a full length CD all himself. This would become The Double Standard Practice.
With the release of The Double Standard Practice, Mike now has a new band called Mad Science Fair. This outfit is straight ahead rock with a strong pop senseablity. He plans to record a full CD with this band and then tour around. After that, Mike hopes to record the follow up to "Beautiful Music for Ugly People", which he has already started working on.
