"It''s hard to pinpoint what makes song writers Casey and Kira go but the chemistry inherent in their writings is obvious. The instruments are woven like a tapestry creating a landscape for the vocal tracks to rise, soar, dip, dive, and romp in. And make no mistake, the vocals on this record are superb."

We know what you''re thinking.
Not ANOTHER avant-garde pop group with two guys playing Chapman Stick, a one-man, everything-but-the-bathtub percussion section and three chick singers doing tight, ethereal, heart-squeezing harmonies.

How cliché.

Nope, Third Door Down is a lot of things, but cliché has never been one of them. Formed around the music of Kira and Casey Arrillaga, TDD has been through many incarnations and transmogrifications over the last few years, but they''ve never disobeyed the call of their own personal muses - the voices in their heads, if you will. They started as a simple, self-contained duo, and back then the thrill was listening to Kira''s unparalleled vocals wrapping around Casey''s skillful playing and distinctive songwriting style. But with the release of their 2000 album "Angels," Third Door Down was a group that found itself blooming.

First Tracy Berna joined on harmony vocals, followed by Teresa Willis, two artists in their own rights with great pipes and a lot of style. Then Colin Jenkinson threw in his utterly original, ambient Stick playing to fill out the mix. Barry Wood hopped on board (and made a lot of noise doing so) just in time to join the band''s tour of Italy in 2001. When the six of them were finally assembled on a stage and pouring their hearts into it, a collective light bulb went off, and the group looked at each other with a hypothetical silly grin on its face - they realized they had a REALLY good thing going on.

They want to keep doing it, and they''d especially like to do so for you. Won''t you join them? In case you haven''t caught them live or heard one of the songs they''ve contributed to various film soundtracks (or even if you have), keep an eye peeled - they''re currently playing all over to promote their hot new album "refraction."
