Born in Houston Texas, Jerome Joseph Mends-Cole II was no stranger to the harshness of a poverty driven lifestyle, guns, drugs, and bugs as JNYC puts it. Cared for by his beloved grandmother for a short time in Houston, he later moved to California with his older brother Jorden for a brief stay with his mother and his two younger siblings. In 1996 he and his older brother shipped out to their father in New York, due to legal troubles on their mother’s behalf. This is where they would be raised, honed, and built "Masaratti Tuff" as JNYC puts it "My father made me the man I am today 24/7/365 and 366 for leap year on my ass". There in the densely populated New York, JNYC and his older brother developed their charismatic style of free styling along with a comedy show mocking the popular radio station Hot 97.1. Growing up on E177th or Park Chester in the Bronx, JNYC developed a freestyle game that entertained his friends, teachers, relatives, and the street "pharm''s". JNYC took music as a hobby however, and always instead focused on getting his money, honeys, being a straight “A” student, receiving the Presidents Award, Associates in Arts, and a BA in Digital Media Arts Communication. 22 now, JNYC has established himself as an eager independent artist with a track record that dates back to his 1999 AT&T prepaid cell phone. Hundreds would call just to hear his infamous "Not sorry I missed you" flow recorded on his voicemail. Equipped with his older brothers beat boxing and 50 cent swag JNYC literally kept ears ringing. For now, once again, JNYC is busy at work on his third SELF DISTRIBUTED LP "Hybrid" while still promoting his debut album “Stuck In My Ways " released Oct 07 and his Sophomore album "Still Here Chapter 2" released Dec 08. "Music to me is simple, as a puzzle maker it’s my job to ensure that every piece of art I make fits into someone else’s greater picture"
