Biography

Tracy A. Knowles Sr.
( Tracy Tracy )

Tracy A. Knowles Sr. was born Sept. 13, 1959 to the proud parents of Garnett and Glendina Knowles, of High Rock South Andros. He is married to Ruth Knowles, and they have two children, Tamarah and Tracy Jr.. He is a Network Administrator/Computer Technician by profession, and a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).

From a little boy, he was fascinated with music. His Mom bought him his first guitar at age 10 yrs., and he quickly learned how to play it. Growing up in South Andros, he attended and sang with his Mom at many concerts, and soon became known for his great singing.

Fascinated with the group called The Cooling Waters and eager to continue in music, in 1977 he formed a group called the Temple Brothers. The group’s name was later changed to The Gospel Impressions. The Gospel Impressions went on to become one of the most popular Groups in the Bahamas, and also performed in various cities in the United States. The Group performed along with Artists like The Winans, Commissioned, Shirley Caesar, The Gospel Keynotes, The Williams Brothers and many other world renowned Groups and Artists. They recorded two (2) singles and four (4) albums under his Leadership. He was not only one of the lead singers, but also the lead guitarist of the group for 16 years. Tracy Sr. remained the Leader of the Gospel Impressions until they became inactive in 2000.

In 2002, Tracy Sr. began work on a solo project. Three years prior to that the Lord put in his spirit to continue in music as a solo artist, and was given the name Tracy Tracy in 1999. At that time he had not considered working with Tracy Jr. because he was not at the level that he would require.
He began writing songs for the album, and by the time he started recording at the end of 2002, Tracy Jr. suddenly became extremely good on the drums. It was then that Tracy Sr. decided to include Tracy jr. as the drummer. Tracy Jr. took on the challenge and did exactly what was required of him in the studio. At this point it became clear that the name Tracy Tracy represented Father and Son and was not by accident.

The Music CD titled “Born to Serve” was completed by November 2003, and released January 5th, 2004. The Father and Son team quickly became popular for their hit songs “Victory in Jesus” and “We are going up”, and we’re nominated for Marlin Awards for both songs. Tracy Sr. along with his wife Ruth, has traveled to 14 Family Islands Marketing the CD. Currently the CD is being played in London, Ghana Africa, Florida, other Caribbean Islands and on all Local Gospel stations in the Bahamas.
