Biography

When one listens to David''s music they are immediately surprised by the great quality of his singing voice; it stands out above the crowd of male singer/songwriters. His guitar playing has a unique style as well from a complex Doc Watson style flat-picking to simple chords. He seems to play every note of a chord rather than to just strum.

David has officially released 2 music CD''s ("Acoustic DEMO" and "San Jose Live 2003") (available at digital stores like iTunes & CDBaby), and unofficially released 2 others ("Man of Life Times" and "It''s written on the Wall") (available at his performances).

David''s grandfather an Austrian wagon wheel maker; played Austrian Polka''s on his button accordion when David was young. David picked up this button accordion and managed to play the same tunes his grandfather did all by ear. But David''s first love was always the guitar. After years of begging his parents he finally got to take a few years of lessons. After being frustrated with guitar lessons he set out on his own trying to learn songs by ear, and self-teaching himself guitar.

He was a music major at Southern Illinois University, he studied piano, voice, oboe, clarinet and other instruments and his performance was in electronic music. He supported himself in college by playing guitar in area coffee houses and lounges.

He has always believed to be the best in everything he enjoys, so in his music he tries to pour his heart and soul into it. Other areas of his expertise include computers, photography, scuba diving (instructor), and martial arts (Master level).

He also studied African drumming with Master drummer Adetunji Joda (Olatunji and his drums of passion, Pearl Primus) while in Denver Colorado, and performed at his side for over 14 years; he is one of the very few people to learn privately with Adetunji; and was approved to teach the African drumming of the Yoruba tribe by Adetunji, and David taught African Drumming classes throughout the Denver area in the 80''s. Baba Adetunji Joda was a Major influence into his music.
David currently sings, plays 6 string acoustic guitar, 12 string acoustic and electric guitar, harmonica, percussion and congas.

His major influences include: Doc Watson, Harry Chapin and Neil Young
