MP3 Thed Weller - Ain't No Pillows on the Road
This is "what''s next" in the way of southern hip-hop. Thed Weller (who classifies himself as a Lyrical Musician) is breaking it down like emcee''s are supposed to. A mix between a tribe called quest, de la soul, kanye west, and a little outkast

Thed Weller -"Ain''t No Pillows on the Road." - Debut Album
Hip-Hop Artist / Lyrical Musician / Producer...Now on iTunes!
Thed Weller is a lyrical musician that hails from Bessemer, Alabama. He''s been in the game for a number of years but has yet to come out with a full length CD/Album until now. Ain''t No Pillows on the Road, the title of his debut project, is a collection of 16 songs (+3 bonus tracks) that blend today''s subject matter with the hard hitting beats and musical influences of yesteryear. Songs like "Marriage of Niggarohs" which chronicles the struggles of Black Folks trying to keep the family together, and "Walk it off" which is the story of "a recovering hater-holic" display Thed''s unique story telling abilities while his ca-lab-o with The Red Light District''s S. Fly on "Stop, Look, Listen" take you back to a time when hip hop was in it''s hay-day...hard beats and and even harder rhymes! The album''s theme song (the first cut) is a song introduced with a spoken word piece written and performed by John Paul. The song then shifts into high gear as Latasha Humphrey sings the words that embody the spirit of the independent MC trying to make it in today''s music industry. Her sounds are blended perfectly with the melodic enchantings of Kenneth Williams on Saxophone. Whether you like what is classified as "old-school" hip hop you prefer today''s cutting edge flows from MC''s that have been battle tested, you''re sure to find cuts you''ll love on this album.
Thed has even impressed other musicians that you wouldn''t necessarily classify in the hip-hop genre. For example, Ruben Studard''s band, Just a Few Cats has asked Thed Weller on different occasions to sit in with their band to add an "Urban Flavor" to their Neo-Soul/Jazz/Funk jam sessions. (Don''t be surprised to hear Thed with other "nontraditional" hip hop artists in the not so distant future.)
Because there really, "Ain''t No Pillows on the Road", Thed''s day job for several years has been that of a sixth grade educator in the Bessemer City School System. He juggles that between MCing and being a dad to his only son.
