Music that stops any audience - energy that''s contagious - voices that capture every ear - songs that keep you humming for days.

This original, indie-rock band, come to the U.K. fresh from Australia, armed with tunes beyond their years. Fronted by Heather Barnes (lead vocals/ bass) and Gareth Hudson (lead vocals/ guitar), the group started when the pair met while completing music degrees at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music (Australia). Having both achieved major musical accreditations (Heather becoming the principal Double Bassist of the Australian Youth Orchestra, and bass guitarist for Ben Gillies of ''silverchair'' (international chart-toppers); Gareth receiving a commission of $10,000(Aus) to compose music for ''The Shining Isle Rock Opera'' (which is now being work shopped for performance), the combination of their musical talents creates a novelty sound that catches the ear.

The strength of their male and female vocals is enough to set ''The Good'' apart, even without their award-winning songs (Newcastle Youth Week Award, finalists in the Oz Music Challenge Rock Section). The daughter of ''Opera Australia'' star Jennifer Barnes (Madama Butterfly, Carmen), Heather has inherited a natural vocal delivery that is usually expected of only the most notable performers. Gareth compliments this with a soul-felt tone, performing straight from the songwriter''s heart. Having sung together for five years the pair have developed a unique vocal sound, combining their pristine harmonies with their rock edge.

''The Good'' began recording their material in 1999 when they were sponsored, by the landlord of their local pub, to cut an E.P. featuring ''True What They Say'', a track that won Gareth the ''Newcastle Youth Week Songwriter''s Award'' of 2000. Following this, they recorded their debut, self-titled album in 2002, using the $20,000 (Aus) prize that they collected in winning the prestigious Bundy Band Challenge (2001). Gareth and Heather are now living in the UK, performing acoustically to promote their band and new album, ''Move Along''. The album was recorded and produced by Gareth who was recently nominated for a ''City of Newcastle Drama Award'' for recording and sound production in the dramatic arts. This album is an excellent example of what ''The Good'' stands for: great songs, great music and that rock edge.

Since moving to the U.K. they have received a great deal of attention in the North-East, including articles in ''The Northern Echo'', ''Evening Gazette'' and ''Sunderland Echo'' newspapers and radio spots with stations such as BBC Radio Cleveland and Southside Radio. They now have scheduled a series of showcase nights to launch the first single from the album "Move Along", beginning at Darlington''s new music venue, "The Forum", and continuing on to London''s "Hope and Anchor" and Newcastle''s "The Bridge Hotel". The single is being released on Resolution Records.
