Details:
Sossity is Paul Forrest and Marcie Schreier, two like-minded musicians who joined forces to celebrate their love for the music of Jethro Tull, but with their own songs.

Paul Forrest is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with experience in rock, folk, classical, new age and other forms of music. Born and raised in South East London, he moved to Sussex to study psychology at the University there in 1991.

Whilst appearing in numerous folk and rock bands, playing guitar, mandolin, bass, and flute, his main role for the last 11 years has been lead-singer, flautist, and guitarist for the UK’s premier Jethro Tull tribute band, The Dayglo Pirates. The band has performed with original members including Clive Bunker, Barrie Barlow,David (now Dee) Palmer, Glen Cornick, and Dave Pegg. He has appeared on radio and on stage with Lead singer Ian Anderson and the current Jethro Tull at their Bournemouth Pavilion show on 16th April 2008.

Paul was introduced to Tull by a musician friend when he was 18. It inspired him to take up the flute and learn the songs of Jethro Tull. Once bitten, forever smitten!

"Marcie has given me faith and inspiration in my own voice and music and has added an amazingly rich, new dimension to it. She has also fuelled my interest in the subtler, acoustic Tull numbers."

Marcie Schreier, an accomplished and versatile singer and flautist with extensive training, is American born, but has lived in Israel since 1980.

Having grown up on rock music, she later became enamoured with music from the 16th-17th centuries. As a vocalist, Marcie has studied and worked with distinguished musicians in the area of Early Music, in addition to performing her own program of Renaissance and Baroque songs from Spain with accompanist and guitarist Philip Griffin. Marcie has appeared on TV, radio, at Israel''s famous Jacob''s Ladder Folk Festival and at several folk and night clubs in Israel, playing rock and folk music.

Marcie first heard the music of Jethro Tull back in 1972 . From that point on, there was no turning back. She cites Jethro Tull''s music as her single most important musical influence.

"Hooking up with Paul has made it possible for me to really ''give something back'' to the band whose music has meant so much to me over the years."

Open Sossity is their first release of songs culled from individual compositions, given new leases of life by combining the vocal talents of Marcie with those of Paul. The songs have gone through a gradual process of refining ideas. The main focus is the acoustic guitar, vocals and flute though this has been augmented with hand percussion, drums, acoustic bass, and other instruments such as the renaissance cornamuse.
