THE PROBLEMS began in New York City with guitarist and singer/songwriter Frank Caiafa, bassist Kenney Anaya and drummer Barbara Corless. Later joined by vocalist Caroline Heldman, violinist Liz Pierson, lead guitarist Josh Weingust and multi-instrumentalist Rick Rivera, THE PROBLEMS began playing in and around N.Y.C from 1996 thru 2000. A fortuitous meeting with Smithereens frontman Pat Dinizio led to an invite on his "Living Room Tour". Soon afterward they began recording what would become their full length debut album available here at CDBaby. The record is currently receiving airplay across the U.S. and around the world including WAXQ 104.3 New York''s new music show, "Out of the Box" and NPR''s music show "All Songs Considered". Songs from this album are also featured in the independent film, "The Poker Game" and renowned artist Lonnie Hanzon''s documentary film, "Working The Magic", which in July of 2004 won "Best Documentary" in Philadelphia''s First Glance Film Festival. In September of 2004, "This Town" was awarded Honorable Mention in the Rock/Alternative Rock Category in Billboard Magazine''s "World Song Contest". Various cuts can also be heard in rotation on XM Satellite Radio''s "Unsigned" channel and all over the Web including https://www.tradebit.com and Radio@https://www.tradebit.com among many others. "Listening to The Problems, it''s hard to believe they hail from New York. Their blend of jangly, rootsy rock/pop suggest a more rural U.S. home base. The LP gets off to a strong start, with three of the albums best songs: "This Town", "Ain''t Over Yet", and the standout "Still". The album doesn''t let up after that, with one catchy, head-bopping tune after another, and a few quieter, heartfelt ballads thrown in for good measure. Perhaps the bands biggest "problem" will be to get enough people in our big city to take notice!

"As the singer/songwriter/poet style has resurrected with the Dylan-esque sounds of Ryan Adams, Pete Yorn and Wilco, comes New York based band The Problems, with their impressive debut record. The band confirms they can rock with the best of them on "In For Me" with an X-like vocal ambiance coupled with a Chuck Berry infused guitar solo. There are no problems with The Problems first appearence and in fact if there were a problem, it would be a lack of a recording contract. This group of musicians successfully blend musical genres without confusing the listener. The first outing for The Problems is fun, fresh, energetic, quirky,and poignant collection of very well crafted original songs.
