Christine Rosholt represents a fresh voice in jazz standards in the Twin Cities. She brings two decades of performance experience to the stage, with roots going back to the Children’s Theater Company and including a variety of types of public performance ranging from original performance art pieces to traditional theater to singing in a variety of groups. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago majoring in Performance Art and Photography. Her career as a jazz vocalist began in October of 2002. She currently works with many of the best jazz musicians in the Twin Cities and beyond in a variety of venues.

She held a weekly Wednesday night gig at Café Havana for two and a half years and still performs there regularly. Christine is also the featured vocalist in Beasley''s Big Band. From 2005 to 2006 Christine was a member the Jazz Vocal Coalition, an organization dedicated to jazz singing with chapters in New York, Los Angeles and the Twin Cities, now defunct, the Minnesota group has reorganized as The Jazz Vocalists of Minnesota (JzVMn).

Major inspirations include Anita O’Day, Annie Ross, Blossom Dearie, Kurt Elling, Carmen McRae, Chris Connor, Diana Krall, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Jane Monheit, Joni Mitchell, June Christy, Karrin Allyson, Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughan, Stacy Kent, Susannah McCorkle, Tierney Sutton, The Roches. Christine says: "I especially like the Jazz standards from the 1930s and 40s because they’re timeless, they swing, and they’re sentimental without being syrupy."

Christine performed in two Minnesota Orchestra events last summer: on June 16, 2007, the MN Orchestra Symphony Ball 2007: Red Hot Jazz, featuring Tony Bennett at The Historic Depot in Minneapolis. On July 13, 2007 she sang in "''Round Midnight" for the Macy''s Day of Music on the Orchestra Hall - Main Stage. Singers, Debbie Duncan, Connie Evingson, Bruce A. Henry & Arne Fogel also performed.

In the summer of 2007 Christine joined the cast of “Girl Singers of the Hit Parade – A Salute to the Great Female Vocalists of the 50’s” with shows at the Old Log Theater, Lyric Arts Main Street Stage and the Mable Tainter Theater in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Two quotes on the show:

On January 14, 2007 Christine presented a concert as part of the Twin City Jazz Society Jazz From J to Z concert series: My Shining Hour - A Tribute to the Music of Harold Arlen with Christine Rosholt, Connie Olson & Bruce A. Henry at the Bloomington Art Center with musicians, Rick Carlson, Keith Boyles and Jay Epstein. Harold Arlen wrote many classic jazz standards including, Ac-cent-tchu-ate The Positive, Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea, Over the Rainbow (and all of the other songs in the Wizard of Oz), Stormy Weather, My Shining Hour, Let''s Fall in Love....and many more. The concert was sold out.

In February of 2006 Rosholt released a brand new CD entitled "Detour Ahead" at Rossi''s Blue Star Jazz Room in Minneapolis, the show was sold out. Detour Ahead is playing on the airwaves across the USA, Canada, Australia and some European countries. Based on Ms. Rosholt''s previously released demo CD (2003), her airplay and name recognition in the Twin Cities, fans are requesting the Detour Ahead in Twin Cities record stores. In September 2006 "Detour Ahead" was nominated for Jazz Recording of the Year in the Minnesota Music Awards.

On December 2, 2005 Christine was a musical guest on Minnesota Public Radio Presents: A Holiday Stage Session with Bill Holm with Independent Producer Heather McElhatton. The Traditions of Christmas: Those You Want and Those That Are Foisted Upon You at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, MN. This show was taped and then broadcast on Christmas Day, Sunday December 25, 2005 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the News and Information stations of Minnesota Public Radio. Including 91.1 FM in the Twin Cities.

On February 18, 2005 Christine presented her first jazz concert in the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center Concert Hall at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. She sang the words of William Shakespeare in jazz settings by Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, John Dankworth and Arthur Young orchestrated for small combo by pianist/composer Laura Caviani. The concert was sold out and received high praise.
