Someday I hope to have the time and talent to record a truly brilliant album comprised of incredible singing and songs, but in the mean time, as life marches on, I present..

Autumn Chronicle: Volume I is my twelfth and latest collection of personal recordings comprised from an eclectic array of personally inspired feelings, thoughts, experiences, and speculations. Many were recorded this past fall as I enter the metaphorical “fall” of my biological existence. Thus the album title. These are not songs per se, but a lot of these recordings lend themselves to long walks, bike rides, or background music while reading, doing yoga, etc. I''ve also noticed that there is a strong influence from 70''s era - especially TV theme music to melodramas and situation comedies. Its amazing how stuff creeps into your soul. Like all my solo releases, I''ve included the tracks that I love as well as the ones with the warts, bruises, and sappiness that make me cringe. The fact is that some of the overt sentimentality in these tracks is awkward to live with, but it came from somewhere, so I''m letting it out! Anyway, here are my track descriptions:

Lost At Sea - I imagine a distressed vessel floating in the fog with a decaying light blinking, sending out an S.O.S. I suppose a lot of people could relate to this tune these days..

Reach For It (Moira''s Theme) – inspired by Moran Horan, an ardent local music supporter and Iron Man triathlete

Neptune City Blues – There’s a certain melancholy vibe that reeks of faded grandeur and carnival in and around the Asbury Park boardwalk – especially in the winter when the cold and quiet invites an inner solitude. I think Nicole Atkins nailed this vibe on her song “Neptune City”. This is just me ruminating with my guitar over a similar theme..

Thanksgiving Meditation – For me, something about the Fall always invites introspection about the passage of time, the growth of children, family memories, etc.

Newport Light – Some lite jazz wanna be stuff, pretty and mellow..

When Green Is Blue – Stupid title perhaps, but for whatever reason, this one reminds me a bit of Peter Green. Not enough people know about him so I figured I’d lay tribute to this “Mac” Daddy and Bluesbreaker.

Utterly Melodramatic Grandiose Delusion – There is nothing like applause to gratify the ego of a performer. Sadly, the crickets in my basement can’t clap, so I’ve resorted to samples of the real thing. I have absolutely no idea what this “song” is about, other than revisiting some musical themes from my youth and trying to recall what it might have been like to have enjoyed the spotlight in some alternate reality that accomodates my delusions of grandeur..

Born Under A Bad Ass Sign – a fierce blues improv, an arrogant title I know, but I liked the sting on this one and hope blues enthusiasts to do..

Cruising on Cookman in the King – retro cruising music, the ing was my old VW Bus and Christianed as such by Brian Saint.

Sarah Tomek Pukin'' Blues – Sarah Tomek is kind of like the first Lady of Asbury Park. Beloved friend and drummer to many, but she''ll also throw up on you in a NYC cab in your not careful! This silly rant personifies this elegant memory for generations to come!

Stretching My Leash – a little 12 bar rant about trying to live your life a bit amidst the pressure and responsibility of family, community, and work life, yada yada.. Basically yet another excuse to wank on the guitar and blow off some steam..

Rumble On Kingsley - another retro roots rock jam, provides a great soundtrack for drinving home to Bradley Beach after another late night gig at the Saint..

Matt‘s Return To Form - As the title implies, my young friend and accomplice Matt Gerald Lott on the saxophone!

Elevator Jazz – I did a benefit last Summer sponsored by https://www.tradebit.com, I tried to perform a set that was trippy and cool. Instead, a listener snarked in a chat room that it sounded like Elevator Jazz. So I recorded this piece in retaliation, but the jokes on me because it does sound like elevator jazz.. Damn!
