Details:
Kaylah''s warm inner glow shines though her voice, breathing new life into each song. We were quite impressed with her ability to go from a commanding full-bodied gospel to a subtle whisper in the same breath.

Jeff Watson & Joey P. / Producers

Kaylah Marin is a songwriter and neo soul vocalist born and raised in San Francisco, California. Kaylah first began writing and performing as a child with her Guatemalan-born father, Jazz Saxophonist Philip Marin, who instilled in Kaylah a love of music and dance rich within her Garifuna roots. Kaylah''s mother, Mary Marin, an educator and lover of the arts, purchased Kaylah''s first guitar and took Kaylah to symphonies, musicals and museums, instilling in Kaylah a deep pride in herself as an African American woman with a heritage brimming with strength, music, art, and spirituality which can be heard throughout all of her songs.

The legendary R&B saxophonist and radio host at KPOO 89.5FM, Bobby Webb, acclaims her talent "She sings beautifully. If you haven''t heard her sing, you should! She has a strong voice.

Kaylah''s story is a fairytale come true. Working as a computer technician, her "executive producer" (really a friend taking a huge risk) Laurie Andrewsen knew she had the talent, both as a singer and songwriter to "make it." She just lacked the backing to do so. Through great effort, she has financially supported her for three years, and attempted to spiritually awaken her into the the place she finds herself now...living a dream. Her current CD has been produced by five time Grammy Award winning producer, Narada Michael Walden, and Jeff Watson (Night Rangers) and Joey P (Mach5 Productions). Kaylah has worked with French filmmaker, Laurent LeGall, to produce her first video Loving Life.

As a teen, Kaylah performed professionally with techno band THE RIOTS at the Digital BE IN in San Francisco. ONE, a song recorded with European group TRIBECA, won the Future Music Magazine Demo of the Month, while Electronica song X on the Beach by SIR VERE, also featuring Kaylah''s vocals, played all over the clubs of Ibiza, a huge hit at the Manumission. Taking a temporary break from Electronica Kaylah founded with Jalila Bell a non-profit dance, music and theater company, THE BUTTERFLY PROJECT, dedicated to promoting positive images of women in the arts. Afterwards she decided to turn her focus to being a solo artist collaborating with other artists musically. Her performance spots include the Elbo Room, Boom Boom Room, Pier 23, 12 Galaxies, Butterfly, North Beach Music Festival, See Alice Run concert, Great America, Oakland Arts and Literature Festival, The Fillmore, El Rio, MECCA, the AIR Lounge and many other Bay Area hot spots.

Kaylah has also scored music for the award winning documentary TEXAS GOLD and did the voiceover and score for JUST CHILDREN winner of four international film festival awards: silver at New York Festivals; silvers at the Chicago International Film Festival and International Davey Awards, a medal at the Columbus International Film Festival and a CINE Golden Eagle for excellence in filmmaking, produced by Seed Communications for the Homeless Prenatal Program.

The lyrics of her soon to be released song, Loving Life, written by Kaylah Marin ''Remember musicals in the street, dancing to class to our own beats raising our hands jumping out of our seats giving our own I have a dream speech'' prophesizes her own life. With the production of her latest CD by the artistic musical genius, Narada Michael Walden, Jeff Watson, and Joey P Kaylah Marin is a rising star and a growing commodity.
