I''m providing this promo-pak to introduce myself and my work. Happy to be in Naples for my sixth season, I''ve been performing for 30+ years now, and have played just about any venue you can imagine. From clubs, lounges, restaurants, & bars, . . . to private parties, weddings, conferences, art shows, and fairs, and even as opening act for some major groups and artists, such as: The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, fiddle player Doug Kershaw-"The Louisiana Man", Texas songwriter/singer Rusty Weir, Canned Heat, Jeff Pollard & La Rue, and others.
From the enclosed play list you can see the variety of popular music that I perform. Keep in mind, a repertoire is an everchanging thing, as new material is added, some older material is left behind. Or, as old material is sometimes added, new material is sometimes dropped! I''ve been fortunate to come up with some very good regional material to compliment my presentations, and I''m always looking for more.
Being a songwriter, my own material of course has special significance to me. As with the popular material I play, my own songs also cover a variety of musical styles. As a result it''s difficult to "pigeon hole" my work into one specific style, but I like to call it, Acoustically Rockin'', Soulfully Countrified, Jazzed-up, Pop-Folk! Many people have compared me to the likes of: Dan Fogelberg, Micheal Murphy, John Denver, Cat Stevens, Paul McCartney, and Harry Chapin. (That sounds alright to me!)
It''s been a pleasure to be well received in SW Florida the past five winters, and to have become a part of the community. This year I stayed on through the summer performing 2 nights a week at the Silver Spoon in the Waterside Shops, where you can still find me Thurs. & Sat. 5-8pm. I''ll soon be back at Amigos Mexican Cafe on Tues. 6-9pm, for my 3rd winter. Also for the 3rd winter, at the Marco Beach Ocean Resort a couple of Wed. evenings each month.
In the past I''ve performed at:
the Bay Front Inn on Fifth Ave., the Cabana Bar, also at the Bayfront complex. A winter at the old Pier 41in Tin City, and at CJ''s Boardwalk Grill. On Marco Island at; Bimini''s Beach Club, the old Backwater Nick''s, and the Gator Grill @ Fiddler''s Creek. The winter of ''05 I regularly performed at the Pink Shell Beach Resort Hotel on N. Ft. Myers Beach. The Port Royal Club''s Wed. evening entertainment, poolside at Pelican Bay''s "Bay Colony Beach Club", and Sat. nights at the Naples Beach Club.
The winter of ''04, Fri. & Sat. at La Playa Beach Club and Resort on Vanderbilt Beach, at the Club''s poolside Tiki Bar. Poolside at the Ritz Carlton, as well as the Ritz Carlton''s Tiberon Golf Resort. Naples/Marco Is. Princess Christmas party cruises throughout the Christmas seasons, as well as many private parties and corporate events through out the seasons here in the area.
It was during the 16 years that I lived in Aspen Colorado, before moving to Michigan, that I had many of my opportunities as an opening act. During the years I''ve been in Michigan I''ve had the opportunity to work many fine establishments and venues. Many summers there I''ve been a featured performer at the amphitheater of the Mackinaw Crossings. Also in Mackinaw City, at Nona Lisa''s Restaurant, and Mackinaw Crossings'' Depot Restaurant.
On Mackinac Island; at The Grand Hotel''s Gate House Restaurant. The Pilot House, O''Sullivan''s Irish Pub, the Pink Pony, the Island House, the Waters Meet, Mission Pte. Resort, the Inn at Stonecliffe, the Waterfront Cafe, the French Outpost, and at Good Fellows. Through my listing in the Mackinac Island Wedding Guide, published through the Island Chamber, I perform for numerous weddings on the Island each year.
In the summer of ''04 the Village Inn Restaurant on Mackinac Island, opened a new restaurant at the then new Pellston airport, which services Emmet County, including: Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Bay Harbor, and many bordering counties. I performed there weekends from the time they opened until I left to return to Florida that fall.
In the Northern Lower Peninsula; the Noggin Room of Stafford''s Perry Hotel in Petoskey, and Stafford''s One Water Street in Boyne City. The Weather Vane Restaurant in Charlevoix, and the Pines Resort on Long Lake.
In St. Ignace; regularly for the Mackinac Grille, and the Marina Pub. In the past at; the Huron Landing, the Flame, the Zodiac Restaurant, and the Harbour Pte. Inn. Also the Hiawatha Sportsmen''s Club in Engadine, the Ojibway Hotel & Maloney''s Alley, both in Sault Ste. Marie.
Outdoor events have become my favorite venue, for their diverse audience, and the beauty of Northern Michigan. Some of these events have been, (and some continue to be):
Labor Day weekend''s "Arts Dockside" in St. Ignace, (for 20yrs). "Bayside Live!" summer concert series in St. Ignace. And for 3 years St. Ignace''s, "Culturama", arts & exhibitions. The Les Cheneaux Area Antique Wooden Boat Show, (for 5 years). The Mackinaw City summer concerts in the park. The Mackinac Island State Parks Centennial Picnic, and the De Tour Village Centennial Celebration. Also, the Mackinac Island State Parks conference cruise to the Les Cheneaux Islands for the Michigan Association of Museums.
