If someone were to write the word "Kodac", what would be your first thought? For some it might be pictures ( check the spelling though), but for a rising number of music lovers, its a new artist who is taking his music for a as a gift given to give. Since 2000, this artist has made a name for himself, and has continue to do so with hypnotic beats and a smooth word-play delivery. Joing the infamous Subterraneous Crew in its beginning stages proved to be one of the most beneficial moves he had made prior to his solo efforts. As a memeber he traveled the United States in promotion of the "WaterWorld TOO" compilation album featuring label mates One Man Army, Decompoze, DJ Phrikshun/Octane, Illite and Majestick Legend. During that time he was able to hone his skills as an emcee, and was introduced to producing in what proved to be a very competetive environment. Whether free styling or writing, he continued to thrive and managed to hold his own on a stage filled with talented individuals.
Performing hundreds of shows assited in the rearing of him as an artist, as he saw the life from the perspective of an artist and also from the everyday working man. As time passed, he continued to write songs, feature on other artist''s album, and learn instruments for producing, but wasn''t in a rush to release an album. He attributes being raised on various genres of musc such as jazz, soul, R&B, rock, gospel and hip hop for his love of music "UnClassified". Before long he found himself with several album ideas, a library of songs, networking connects but nothing to connect.
Fast forward to 2009 where we find Kodac in a renewed state of mind as an artist and as a business man. His first solo album will be released under GFG (Gifts From GOD) Entertainment.
Always ahead of the game, his first album "UnClassified" is a prelude to his next effort entitled "Looking In.......Listening" on which he speaks on the every day life of an independent artist attempting to balance home life and the outside world. His ability to relate to the average peson and speak what most think but could not write makes his listening base unlimited. Whether a child just learning to speak or an adult in the prime of their life, Kodac is able to speak in a way that is inviting and also enlghiting. Ina day and age where rap songs revolve around the club, personal possesions, and exploiting women, its nice to know that there are still some real artist who go home to their loved ones, have real issues and deal with them. Be sure to support good music, because good music is "UnClassified".
