Drew was born and raised in Spring Valley, a small town in rural Wisconsin. He is a triplet and has an older sister as well. Drew graduated from Spring Valley High School in 2005 and is currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Drew started to play guitar when he was 16, and began leading worship at 18. Drew began writing his own music his freshman year of college and continues to do so today.
"Unworthy" was recorded in the fall of 2008 in Eau Claire Wisconsin. Nate Gruber produced the album, and was mastered by Todd Scott in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Drew says this of his experience recording this album: "The recording of this CD has truly been a blessing of opportunity given to me. My prayer is that God and God alone would be praised though it and that His name would be glorified. My hope is that you all would be able to enter into God''s presence and worship Him through this album; that the music He has given me would be able to be sung by others in praise to Him. That it would be about making His name famous. I give God all the credit, all the glory, and all the praise."
Drew also says this of the album: "I chose "Unworthy" as the title for this album because I truly feel undeserving of everything that God has blessed me with in my life. I don''t deserve the family and friends that He has placed in my life, the places He has allowed me to go and the things He has allowed me to experience. But despite all the "physical" blessings in my life, even if all of them were taken away, I still would be unworthy of the spiritual gifts God has granted me. I don''t deserve the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for me on the cross to take away my sins. For some reason, He has chosen to love me and desires to have a relationship with me (something that I don''t understand or deserve). He has chosen to call me His beloved. I thank Him for calling me His own, for loving me as I am, and for allowing me to spend eternity with Him through Jesus'' sacrifice. I am truly undeserving and unworthy."
