MICHAEL TOTARO
Michael Totaro was born and raised in Chicago and its suburbs. He graduated from DePaul University, with a major in Music Education. During high school and college Michael performed extensively as part of a band, and later, on stage, in a variety of musical theatre comedies. After college he continued to perform professionally and assisted in establishing neighborhood musical theatre production companies.
Married since 1976, Michael and his wife, Maureen, both graduated in 1981 from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, California. Working through school together, Michael and Maureen each earned a Masters of Law from George Washington University in Washington D.C. in 1982. The couple are law partners in Totaro & Shanahan, a small law firm. The Totaro''s reside in Pacific Palisades with their four children, 17 year old Marissa, 15 year old Matthew, and 13 year old twins Mason and Mikhail. The CD insert contains many candid photos of Michael and his family taken during the recording session in Nashville, Tennessee.
Four years ago, Michael returned to music, his first love. "The Puzzle of Love" is Michael''s first solo endeavor and is the result of his drive, talent and determination. The album is a musical journey through the pieces making up the "Puzzle of Love." The album of original songs, collected from a variety of song writers, are compiled in a manner to tell a story of love. It takes the listener through a journey from the first hint of an attraction and the euphoria of a first love, to coping with breaking up and eventually having to start anew. The tone of the album is not one of despair, but instead, of hope, optimism and the belief that with work, your relationship can survive all of life''s problems.

Love begins with a feeling, a look, or a voice, telling us this is the one. (HEARING VOICES.) While we all have materialistic dreams, at the same time we also search for love to bring us inner fulfillment. (DIAMONDS AND GOLD.) When we hear the voice, our search for the material aspects of life becomes secondary to the deeper feeling of love.
During the honeymoon period, the person you found becomes the focus of your world. You can''t stand to be apart for even a minute. You think constantly about being together again. (BACK IN YOUR ARMS AGAIN.) Even if you''ve been unlucky in love before, you decide to LEAVE IT UP TO LOVE.
However, be it a short or long term relationship, sometimes things do go wrong. You feel that through no fault of your own, you''re forced to watch your one love fall for another. (FALLIN AGAIN.) When this happens, it becomes difficult to see the brightness of life around you. (HOW CAN THE SUN COME UP WITHOUT HER.)
During this period of adjustment, you may feel you''re JUST PASSIN'' THROUGH life, without much awareness, feeling, direction or focus. You may become wistful. (THIS OLD HOUSE.) You may be restless. (I''LL JUST WATCH THIS CLOCK.) But more than anything else, you may feel regretful of the way you treated your love.
