Details:
The Storm Trooperz has been holding down the Southern New Jersey underground music scene since 1994. Starting out early in their music career with Billy Club Mix tape days. Following up with the STP CD single on Thoroughbred Records, in addition to a few underground singles with local producers. Now, presently begining to work on our full fledge album entitled "Trapped In The City".

"What makes us different from Lyricist is our lack of fear to explore our imagination and creativity. We also are involved in things that other MC''s only talk about what they would like to do. All our lyrics are from life experiences, hard times, and music industry struggles".

Our influences are obviously some of Hip-hop pioneering forces. Ever since the Sugar Hill Gang dropped "Rappers Delight" to Run-DMC, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Slick Rick, KRS 1, BIG, Tupac, Nas, The WU, Jay-Z, Out Kast and NWA. The others are unexpectedly stories of artists and groups from our era that we listen to as kids who people will never know about. Our main goal is to keep the creative aspect in Hip-Hop flowing. The time of celebrating a group or MC solely on the fact that he, she or they will sound like who ever, has ended.
We will bring about the Imperial fleet, our army of artists that do not fear the path of creativity. Within our songs, as a collective, we try to cover all aspects of man. From "Stanky", which is the sexual side, explores sexual fantasies with a particular female. "Jump in the Ride" is a playful collage of feel-good thoughts, in spite of the stress of not having the finer things in life. "Stormin Trooopin" an anthem to all who believe in freedom of choice and doing your own thing. "Somethin About this Music", is a melodic tribute to music itself. The calmer of even the savage beast, this music that we''ve have been blessed with, this music that gives us hope.

We have played at several venues: "Club Stardust" (AKA-Club Z) in wildwood opening for acts such as Nas, Busta Rymes and Rakim. We opened for Dougie Fresh in Margate, NJ, for Helta Skelta and the Boot Camp Click, Keith Murray, the Sporty Thieves, Raykwan & Ghostface Killa of the Wu-Tang Clan in Atlantic City, NJ at Club Bently''s. Doing those shows developed us musically just as a boy makes his journey to manhood. In our early stages we were wild and reckless and it was reflected in our music. Even though the music still reflects our lives, we are now men with mature minds with consciousness also aware of the times we live in, and the effects caused by our speech to listeners.

"I remember in 96'' we went to the Rap Sheet Convention in DC, we had just heard about it two days before, but decided to go anyway. Our song, ''Timber" was entered into a large demo listening session containing over 200 artists from all over the USA. Now keep in mind, all we had was the CD we rode around the hood with everyday. The judges were the Industry elite''s; Ricko Wade "Out Kast''s producer", a Jive & Epic Records A&R, Warlock Records and the late great "Jam Master J" of Run-DMC. They did not hold their tongue when it came time for them to critique your music. Also in attendance were Hip-Hop greats and pioneers like Cool-Hurk, Africa Bambata, Grandmaster Caz, and Grandmaster Flash. When your music was played, only 15 - 20 seconds of the song played. If it wasn''t a hit ... You were hit!!! When it was our turn, they went crazy! Jam Master J said, "Now that''s what a demo should sound like". We were the topic and highlight of the day. Press and A&R''s were approaching but we had just drove up from the hood with nothing but skills and 1 CD. But at least the experience showed us that we could hang with the big dogs".
