Wiltrud Weber, a singer of illustrious talent, has opened a huge door, and stepped through it to create an intriguing and profoundly new world of music. When the high art of operatic singing meets with the pulsing beats of dance music…an explosion takes place!
Accomplishing what few singers are able to, she has bridged her operatic background (which included training in Germany at the Freiburg and the Frankfurt Music School, where she studied classical singing and piano) with a fresh style that brings together her vivid and well-traveled experience of culture and spirit. Wiltrud is a passionate artist, singer-poet, an, and decidedly a citizen of the world.
Working with Haitian-born, NYC Producer/Composer/Multi-Instrumentalist: Jephté Guillaume, “Blue and Deep” will be the first single for the upcoming CD release that will feature Wiltrud’s powerful and magical voice, in the setting of Jephte’s International House, Dance and Pop tracks. Wiltrud and Jephte, in co-writing the music for the CD, have hit on a delicate balance of drum-drenched tracks, acoustic and organic arrangements in an edgy electronica setting that will navigate through the multi-linguistic sensual singing of Wiltrud and will work the listener to a state of merging with the undeniably masterful and high temperature beats of Jephte Guillaume.
Wiltrud’s background as an operatic Lyric Soprano took her to perform with major orchestras, such as The Berlin Philharmonic, and the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra. In the midst of her background in classical performance, her muse lured her first to India, and later to NYC where she delved into the kaleidoscopic presence of various and vast musical cultural spectrums.
This cross-pollination of cultures within Wiltrud’s sensibilities inspired her first steps as a composer, where (in NYC and Berlin) she lead her ensemble, performing her own brand of ‘Global Cabaret’ and it included the completion of a CD (recorded in Berlin), in which she began to explore her capacity as a song-writer.
The collaboration of Wiltrud and Jephté is breaking down musical walls with its spirited, revolutionary and unexpected approach. It is sure to grab the ears of music lovers, and ignite intense pleasure!
