In 1997 Tunesmith founder, Pauli DeSimone (guitar/vocals) began writing songs for a new band with a new concept in mind. Combining a genuine love for honest hard rock music with a taste for fusion and a need to play the blues, Tunesmith was born. Pauli blends powerful guitar work reminiscent of history''s greatest slingers with a full, fat sound that competes with today''s radio waves.
Somewhat by chance, in the midst of all this, Pauli met a geneous type fellow named James Davis. "Jimmy" was just what Pauli needed to really get a jump on this thing. Bringing strong co-writing ability and good bass guitar / vocal skills to the mix, Pauli and Jimmy needed only one more thing,a great drummer.
At the beginning of 2000, the position of percussionist was filled with the exciting addition of Rob James (drums/vocals) to the band. Rob delivers unique technique and feel learned from a background in orchestral percussion and years of studying the best progressive and fusion drummers in the business. This, coupled with strong backing and occasional lead vocals, makes Rob a powerful contributor to the strength of Tunesmith.
The band''s debut album, "Tunesmith", has received excited critical reviews. It showcases the band''s talents not only as musicians but as co-producers and performers with the entire album being recorded and mixed in only three days. The strong personal inner core and prolific artistic facets of Tunesmith ensure that this dynamic trio is set to become a key player in the years to come.
Over the course of time, Jimmy became interested in solo persuits and amicably left Tunesmith to do just that. Therefore, the hunt for a suitable replacement ensued. After a tiresome slew of auditions, Aubrey Ridgeway, bassist extraordinaire, was welcomed into the fold. A four song EP was recorded during Aubreys stay with the band which is available at https://www.tradebit.com. Aubrey spent several years with Tunesmith before, also, moving on to solo persuits.
